Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Durty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaru Hirai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyler Durty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaru Hirai!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durty avoids the head kick by Hirai.
Hirai takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hirai tries for a takedown but Durty circles away easily

and Durty counters with a shoot takedown. Hirai fights it but they end up in guard.

Durty is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Durty trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Durty sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Durty's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Hirai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Durty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hirai is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Durty looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tyler Durty just wasn't active enough.
Hirai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Durty to counter with a crisp jab.
Durty shoots for a double leg takedown but Hirai sprawls well. He's pushed Durty's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hirai misses with a shot to the body

and Durty counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Durty is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Durty won't allow Hirai to get back to his feet.
Hirai looks gassed!
Durty passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tyler Durty has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hirai drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Durty jabs Hirai right on the nose. Hirai blinks but takes it well.
A head kick misses from Hirai.
Durty blocks a head kick by Hirai.
Durty cracks Hirai with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hirai fails with the takedown
and Durty counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tyler Durty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masaru Hirai.

Durty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Durty stays in close to Hirai's body and controls the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Durty lands a nice shot to the body.
Hirai takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Durty shoots in and gets a takedown into Hirai's guard.

Durty gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Durty works the jab nicely.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Durty fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hirai sprawls well initially but Durty persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Durty wants to work for an arm triangle but Hirai is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Durty is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hirai is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
