Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barry Hamasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oiva Tuominen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamasaki is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Barry Hamasaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oiva Tuominen! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuominen scores with a nice head shot. Hamasaki is breathing heavily. Tuominen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hamasaki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hamasaki with a jab. Hamasaki rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Tuominen counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tuominen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hamasaki on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hamasaki tries to get out of the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Oiva Tuominen wasn't active enough on the ground. Tuominen has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuominen scores with a takedown into Hamasaki's guard. Hamasaki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tuominen controls the pace. Tuominen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Oiva Tuominen was stalling too much, according to the referee. Tuominen misses with a shot to the body and Hamasaki counters with a left to the body. Tuominen misses with a takedown attempt - Hamasaki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Barry Hamasaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oiva Tuominen. Hamasaki keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tuominen has his takedown stuffed and Hamasaki counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Tuominen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tuominen lands in his opponent's guard. Tuominen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hamasaki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tuominen. Tuominen fails with the takedown and Hamasaki counters with a lovely straight right hand! Tuominen misses with a takedown attempt and Hamasaki counters with a good low kick that Tuominen was not able to check. Barry Hamasaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oiva Tuominen. Tuominen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hamasaki swivels and escapes. Tuominen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tuominen showed some decent athleticism there. Tuominen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hamasaki! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tuominen content just to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuominen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hamasaki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Oiva Tuominen was stalling too much, according to the referee. Tuominen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hamasaki defends it nicely. Tuominen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hamasaki pinned against the cage. Hamasaki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tuominen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A slow jab from Hamasaki misses its intended target. No luck with that takedown attempt from Tuominen. Tuominen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oiva Tuominen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Hamasaki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hamasaki wants it to stay on the feet. Tuominen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tuominen lands in his opponent's guard. Tuominen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Tuominen pushes down on Hamasaki's leg and manages to get into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuominen works his foot free and advances to mount. Poor strikes thrown by Tuominen there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Hamasaki is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Tuominen has taken his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tuominen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Barry Hamasaki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tuominen missing with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tuominen lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Tuominen really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hamasaki. Tuominen is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hamasaki won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Tuominen off his unconscious opponent!
