Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luisito Pelaez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Anderson !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luisito Pelaez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson lands a big uppercut and Pelaez crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Pelaez looks OK. Anderson waves Pelaez back to his feet!


It looks like Luisito Pelaez has been cut.

Anderson has managed to clinch.
Anderson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pelaez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pelaez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Pelaez is pressed up against the cage. Anderson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pelaez down to the mat. Pelaez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown but Pelaez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anderson 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karl Anderson . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anderson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pelaez, pushing him back against the cage.
Pelaez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anderson .

Anderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pelaez as he jumps to the side.

and Anderson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pelaez's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Karl Anderson just wasn't active enough.
Nice takedown defense from Pelaez. No joy for Anderson on that attempt.

Anderson forces Pelaez back against the cage and clinches.
Anderson tries to pull guard but Pelaez holds him up against the cage and eventually Anderson drops back down to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Anderson pulls Pelaez into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Pelaez looks gassed!
Anderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pelaez has him pressed against the cage.

Anderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Anderson fails to land the takedown.
Pelaez tries to clinch but Anderson moves away

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Anderson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Anderson throws a jab but it's blocked by Pelaez.

Anderson has closed the distance and engaged Pelaez in a clinch.
Pelaez is pressed up against the cage. Anderson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pelaez down to the mat. Pelaez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pelaez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pelaez with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Anderson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Pelaez is trying to keep an underhook but Anderson manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Anderson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pelaez to get to his feet.
Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pelaez tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pelaez to the ground. Pelaez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Anderson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Pelaez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pelaez wants it to stay on the feet.
Pelaez leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Anderson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pelaez's guard now.

Anderson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Anderson advances to half guard.

Anderson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pelaez to stand up.
Anderson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pelaez's waist but Pelaez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anderson off to one side.
Anderson wants to land a leg kick but Pelaez is out of range.

Anderson gets a clinch.

Anderson pulls guard effortlessly.

Pelaez wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Anderson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Anderson jumps guard and drags Pelaez to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pelaez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anderson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pelaez's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Anderson takes the fight into the clinch.
Anderson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pelaez walks away with a smile on his face. Anderson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Karl Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Anderson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pelaez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Anderson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pelaez!
Anderson breaks from Pelaez's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Anderson lands a nice shot to the head.
Anderson punishing his opponent with strikes.
Anderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pelaez's face.
Anderson controlling the position easily from mount.
Karl Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Anderson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Anderson lands with some strikes.
Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Anderson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pelaez for as long as he can get away with.

Pelaez is trying to reverse the position but instead Anderson has taken his back - oops!

Anderson has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Pelaez.
Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Anderson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Anderson working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Pelaez is doing well to defend. Anderson seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Pelaez is forced to tap and this one is over!
