Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pavlik Mass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Morales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mass is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Vinny Morales has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mass swats away the attempt to clinch by Morales.
Mass is breathing heavily.
Morales shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mass as he jumps to the side.

Morales escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Morales changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mass tries to avoid it but Morales manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mass to the ground. Mass escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pavlik Mass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinny Morales.

Morales decides to stand and escape the position.
Morales shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mass as he avoids it easily.

Morales jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mass walks away with a smile on his face. Morales gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Mass counters with a single leg into guard. Morales didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mass gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Morales shoots in for a takedown but Mass shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mass ducks right into an uppercut from Morales.
Morales stuffs the takedown attempt from Mass. Mass gets slowly back to his feet.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Morales enables Mass to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morales manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mass has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Morales can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mass looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Mass cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Morales has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mass avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Morales is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mass gets his way!

Mass is working for a rear naked choke. Morales is not defending it well and Mass has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Morales refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Morales's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
