Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dante Exterberra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maya Richer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dante Exterberra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maya Richer! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richer doesn't succeed with the takedown and Exterberra counters with a lovely straight right hand! Exterberra fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Richer sprawls well initially but Exterberra persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Richer is defending against the submission attempts here by Exterberra.

Richer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Exterberra is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Richer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Exterberra. Richer misses with some strikes from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Exterberra looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Exterberra throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Richer because Exterberra loaded up on that one. Richer bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Exterberra is breathing heavily. Richer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Exterberra looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Richer! Richer is in all sorts of trouble here.
Richer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Exterberra throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Richer because Exterberra loaded up on that one. Richer is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Exterberra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Richer is looking to escape. Exterberra goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Richer turns into him and now he's in Exterberra's guard.
Richer passes easily into side control. Nice work. Richer trying to control the action but Exterberra is working from the bottom. Richer throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richer controls the position. Exterberra pushes Richer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Richer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Richer wants to control but Exterberra is keeping him busy. Exterberra throws Richer to one side and escapes! Exterberra takes a shot right to the bread basket. Richer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Exterberra pinned against the cage. Exterberra gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Richer fails in his attempt to clinch. Exterberra doesn't succeed with the takedown and Richer counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Richer has Exterberra pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dante Exterberra dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Richer shoots in for a double leg but Exterberra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A slapping body kick lands there for Richer. Exterberra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Exterberra lands in his opponent's guard. Richer trying to control the position.
Exterberra trying to control but Richer is working from the bottom. Richer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Exterberra is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Richer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Richer has escaped and now he's on top! Exterberra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Richer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Exterberra keeping full guard, as Richer tries to pass. Exterberra wriggles free and stands up. Richer shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Richer wants to pass to mount but Exterberra is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Exterberra looking for submissions off his back. Exterberra looks like he's trying to stand up.
Richer frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Richer prevents Exterberra from getting the reversal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Exterberra looks a forlorn figure.
Exterberra is trying to stand up. Richer is in the full mount, landing strikes. Richer wants to control the pace but Exterberra is squirming around nicely. Exterberra is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Exterberra is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Exterberra trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Exterberra tries to improve his position but instead Richer has taken his back! Richer trying to control momentarily.

Richer looking for the choke but no joy. Exterberra tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Exterberra swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Dante Exterberra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Richer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Exterberra is trying to get back to his feet but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maya Richer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Exterberra is defended easily by Richer. Richer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Richer throws a nice outside leg kick. Richer goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Exterberra looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Exterberra drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Richer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Exterberra has Richer in his guard. Exterberra keeping full guard, as Richer tries to pass. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Exterberra is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Richer is controlling him. Exterberra is trying to keep Richer in close.
Richer wants to control from the top but Exterberra keeps moving. Exterberra throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Richer escapes and throws Exterberra's legs to the side, diving into side control! Richer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Exterberra, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Exterberra is trying to get back to his feet. Richer working away. Exterberra strikes from the bottom but Richer takes advantage and advances to full mount! Richer unloading with bombs! Exterberra is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Exterberra is trying to stand up. Richer connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Richer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Exterberra can't escape the position.
Richer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Exterberra is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Richer content just to control the position here. Exterberra throwing hammer fists to the chest of Richer. What's that going to do exactly? Richer lands a heavy elbow. Richer prevents Exterberra from getting the reversal. Richer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Exterberra throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Exterberra tries to get back to half guard but can't. Richer has control of Exterberra's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Exterberra regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Exterberra wants to try and get back to his feet. Exterberra bucks Richer off and manages to get back to his feet! Richer misses with a takedown attempt - Exterberra sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Exterberra misses with a takedown and Richer counters with a left and a right that stings Exterberra. Exterberra throws a left and a right that both miss
and Richer moves into the clinch. Richer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Maya Richer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Richer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
