Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Milo Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brady Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Milo Phillips! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brady Baird! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baird darts in trying to clinch and Phillips counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Baird tries to clinch but Phillips moves away and Phillips cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Baird throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

Phillips frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Phillips controlling the pace for now. Phillips lands a heavy elbow. Baird slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Phillips working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Phillips has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Baird tries to get to full guard but Phillips has control of the leg. Baird is defending against the submission attempts here by Phillips.

Baird doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Phillips. Baird wants to get back to his feet.
Phillips is keen to just control but Baird is a slippery customer. Still in half guard, Phillips seems content to control. Phillips tries to pass to full mount but Baird defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Phillips lands strikes from half guard. Phillips is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phillips frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Baird really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Phillips. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. BOOM! Phillips connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Baird tries to clinch up and Phillips counters with a takedown into side control. Milo Phillips overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Phillips wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baird keeps working. Baird taking a bit of punishment here - Phillips scoring with strikes. Phillips lands some shots froms side control. Phillips is putting a hurting on Baird here, landing some big shots from side control. Baird wants to get back to his feet. Phillips tries for a kimura but Baird is defending well. Phillips landing a few strikes.

Phillips lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Baird tries to reverse the position but Phillips maintains control. The referee warns Baird that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
It looks like Brady Baird has been cut. Phillips trying to control but Baird is having none of it.

Phillips wants to finish this one by submission but Baird is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Phillips. This has been an exciting period of action! Phillips is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Baird can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That has opened up Brady Baird's cut even more. Phillips is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Baird can do to turn this around?

Baird is bucking up trying to escape but Phillips cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The referee warns Baird that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The cut above Brady Baird's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Phillips pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Phillips lands a nice shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baird in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Brady Baird's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brady Baird's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
