Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morty Pheoski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Morty Pheoski! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Pheoski looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pheoski rushes Mir and presses him up against the cage. Mir takes a knee to the side of the body. Pheoski throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mir blocks it with crossed arms. Pheoski tries to land a knee to the head but Mir blocks with his arms.
Pheoski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mir clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Mir trying to control but not successfully. Pheoski is trying to stick to Mir's back but Mir is turning into Pheoski. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pheoski's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mir.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir postures up in Pheoski's guard and throws a big left but Pheoski blocks it. Mir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pheoski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mir, into his guard. Mir working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pheoski trying to control but Mir is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Frank Mir wasn't doing enough on the ground. Mir circles away from the clinch attempt and Mir counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pheoski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Mir gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pheoski counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mir won't be happy with that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pheoski tries for a kimura but Mir is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir is looking to reverse the position.

Pheoski is trying to get an arm triangle but Mir is defending well. Mir tries to bench press Pheoski off him but Pheoski keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Morty Pheoski dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pheoski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mir gets full guard. Pheoski drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mir dives on top into guard. Mir engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Mir decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pheoski, up you get! Mir fails with the takedown and Pheoski counters with an outside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mir with a lazy takedown attempt and Pheoski counters with a thumping low kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A head kick by Mir misses and Pheoski counters by moving into the clinch. Mir has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Pheoski tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Pheoski has Mir pressed against the cage, preventing Mir from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Pheoski misses with a knee to the head. Pheoski tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mir has had enough of the clinch but Pheoski keeps him there for the moment. Pheoski tries to land knees in the clinch but Mir avoids the damage to the body. Mir is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pheoski pulls him back up using the underhooks. Pheoski is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mir is defending well for now. Mir pulls guard effortlessly. Mir is trying to control the position but Pheoski postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Pheoski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mir manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pheoski has Mir in his guard. Mir stands up from Pheoski's guard - Mir perhaps looking for a knockout. Mir doesn't succeed with the takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pheoski moves into the clinch. Mir drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pheoski gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Mir is trying to drag Pheoski to the mat but Pheoski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mir throws a knee to the head but misses.

A close second round but Morty Pheoski will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Mir circles away from the clinch attempt and Mir counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pheoski! Mir trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mir punching from mount but Pheoski doing a good job of avoiding damage. Mir is standing up, even though he is in mount. Mir is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pheoski's half guard. Mir trying to advance position but Pheoski counters by regaining guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pheoski's head. Pheoski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mir controls the pace. Pheoski wants to stand but Mir is controlling the position. Mir slips nicely into half guard. Mir is trying to control the action in half guard but Pheoski is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Frank Mir has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pheoski defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pheoski keeps working. Mir wants to work for an arm triangle but Pheoski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pheoski wants to get back to his feet.
Pheoski pushes Mir off and gets back to his feet. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mir. Mir fails with the takedown and Pheoski counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A knee to the head by Pheoski.
Still in the clinch, Mir scores with a nice short uppercut. Pheoski using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mir has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Mir tightens his grip and picks Pheoski up, before dumping him to the ground. Pheoski manages to land in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir looking to pass the guard. Mir slips nicely into half guard. Frank Mir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pheoski tries to kick Mir off but Mir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pheoski actively working from the bottom here. Morty Pheoski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mir slips a nice elbow through Pheoski's hands, connecting with Pheoski's forehead. Mir is looking to take a break and control but Pheoski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mir passes to full mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Mir showed his dominance in that final round. I think Pheoski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
