Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brad Rood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randolph Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rood kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Enter Sandman, by Metallica. Duke is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pink Floyd - Money. Randolph Duke is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Rood!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randolph Duke!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duke gets tackled into the cage by Rood. Rood maintains the clinch.
Rood slowing the pace effectively.
A left hand lands to the body for Rood.
Duke looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Rood throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Duke blocks it with crossed arms.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rood creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

enabling Duke to counter with a crisp jab.
Duke slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Duke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Duke avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Brad Rood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rood throws a lazy right hand but Duke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Duke scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rood thumps Duke with a low kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rood. Duke does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Duke paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rood throws a body punch but Duke moves out of range.
Rood stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rood throws a leg kick but Duke checks it.
Rood steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Duke.
Duke moves out of range as Rood strikes.
Brad Rood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rood throws a jab when Duke was well out of range.

Rood throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Duke cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rood misses with a lunging right hand

and Duke moves into the clinch.
Duke wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rood has him pressed against the cage.

Duke pulls guard.
Rood trying to control the position from guard on top but Duke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duke pulls Rood in close to his closed guard and prevents Rood from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Brad Rood has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Rood misses with a straight left.
Duke keeps the fight on the outside.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rood connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Duke's hands.
Duke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duke misses with an uppercut
and Rood counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Rood tries to close the distance and clinch but Duke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rood tries to bum rush Duke with a series of wild strikes but Duke uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duke manages to avoid it.

and Duke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Duke scores with a decent looking hook.
Rood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rood looks to land a left hand but Duke moved out of range nicely.
Rood with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Brad Rood is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to Randolph Duke.
