Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Beardwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gage R (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beardwood comes to the cage accompanied by The Black Angels - Young Men Dead. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nigel Beardwood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gage R! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beardwood swings and misses with a shot to the body and R counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. R lands a lovely overhand right. R lands a head shot. A shot to the body from Beardwood misses enabling R to counter with a crisp jab. Beardwood swings widly with a right hand
and R counters with a nice body shot. Beardwood misses with a few strikes there.
R misses with a series of wild punches.
Beardwood throws a right hand that misses
and R counters with a left and a right that stings Beardwood. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. R fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Beardwood swings widly with a right hand
and R counters with a nice uppercut. R's jab looks to have found its range, popping Beardwood under the eye. R fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Beardwood looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. R cracks Beardwood with a good jab. Beardwood throws a predictable looking body shot
letting R counter with a right hand. R lands a nice shot to the body.
Beardwood is breathing heavily. Beardwood rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and R counters with a lovely straight right hand! Beardwood throws an ugly left hook that misses
and R counters with a right hand to the body. Beardwood misses with a lunging right hand
and R counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. R working Beardwood over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. R throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. R with the ground and pound but Beardwood uses the opportunity to regain guard. R throwing strikes from guard but Beardwood blocks nicely. R's corner is telling him to maintain position. R throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beardwood works some decent striking defense from the bottom. R trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. R prevents Beardwood from getting back to his feet. R is stalling in the full guard. R stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beardwood swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. R trying to control the position from guard on top but Beardwood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Gage R was stalling too much, according to the referee. Beardwood misses with a hook to the body
and R cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A punch combination from R misses. R gets a takedown into half guard. R thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Beardwood's head. R looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
R not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. R tries to pass the half guard into mount. Beardwood knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. R is trying to control. Beardwood wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. R wants to work for an arm triangle but Beardwood is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Beardwood avoiding damage under a succession of punches from R. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gage R dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and R counters with a single leg into guard. Beardwood didn't expect that. Beardwood preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. R trying to control but Beardwood is working from the bottom. Beardwood avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. R throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beardwood works some decent striking defense from the bottom. R with a flurry of punches that miss. Beardwood avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. R throws a big right hand that misses. R loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. R throwing strikes but missing. R seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Beardwood keeping moving, preventing R from controlling successfully. R with a flurry of punches that miss. Beardwood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Beardwood can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as R controls the pace. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. R throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beardwood works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ris looking to pass into half guard but Beardwood pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Beardwood is in guard. R isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Beardwood stacks R on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Beardwood! R is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. R gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. R is pressing down on Beardwood's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. R throws his legs up looking for a submission but Beardwood uses it to pass to side control.
R has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. R manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Beardwood wants to stand up but R is controlling the position.
Beardwood prevents R from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gage R showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Beardwood takes one to the chin there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. R lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
R lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Beardwood circles away quickly and effectively. Gage R seems to be getting the better of the standup. Beardwood shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Beardwood throws a predictable looking body shot
and R counters with a right hand to the body. R stuns Beardwood with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Beardwood dodges the punch combination from R.
Excellent takedown into side control there by R.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beardwood is working to avoid the ground and pound but R connects with a decent elbow. R controlling from side mount. The strikes coming from R are missing the target in this wave of attacks. R in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Beardwood managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by R.

Beardwood keeping moving, preventing R from controlling successfully. R sitting in guard here, content to control. R trying to control the position from guard on top but Beardwood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

R postures up in Beardwood's guard and throws a big left but Beardwood blocks it. Gage R is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. R sitting in guard here, content to control.
Gage R has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Beardwood throws an off balance right hand
and R connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. R has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Beardwood finds it's way round the side to connect with R's head. Nice body punch from Beardwood. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. R gets a double leg takedown into Beardwood's guard. R won't allow Beardwood to get back to his feet. R trying to control the position from guard on top but Beardwood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Gage R comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well R has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
