Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Pettis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fergal Leary! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leary tries to bum rush Pettis with a series of wild strikes but Pettis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Leary moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Anthony Pettis has been cut. Leary gets a clinch. Pettis looking to throw knees to the head but Leary is blocking nicely.
Leary is trying to force a seperation but Pettis has the dominant position. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Leary has had enough of the clinch but Pettis keeps him there for the moment. Pettis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pettis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Leary lands a right hand. Leary wants to get back to striking at distance but Pettis won't allow it.

Pettis manages to pull guard.
Leary is looking to stand up but Pettis won't let him. Leary is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Pettis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Leary defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Leary doesn't defend quickly enough and Pettis has managed to lock this one up! Can Leary escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pettis on a fantastic submission victory.
