Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Selby Campbell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colin McCall! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Campbell but Campbell pushes him off and we're back to square one. The fight moves into the clinch position. Campbell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. McCall tries to break the clinch but Campbell is controlling the position. McCall is working for takedown but Campbell is calmly controlling the position for now. McCall connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Selby Campbell has been cut. Campbell prevents McCall from breaking the clinch. The referee calls for Campbell to work.
Campbell drops down looking for an ankle pick but McCall pulls his leg out and moves away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Campbell. The fight moves into the clinch position. McCall keeps control of Campbell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Campbell misses with some punches.
Campbell pulls guard successfully.
Campbell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McCall manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCall looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Campbell is pushing down on McCall's leg trying to pass to half guard. McCall is fighting to maintain full guard but Campbell has managed to sneak the leg through. McCall tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Campbell moves nicely into side control. McCall is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. McCall is trying to escape the position but Campbell is controlling the position. McCall gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCall swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. McCall tries to get back to half guard but can't. Campbell controlling the position easily from mount. Campbell prevents McCall from getting the reversal. Campbell controlling from the full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCall tries to lock up and control but Campbell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McCall wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Campbell working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but McCall is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Campbell has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! McCall taps out!
