Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Suchart Chaowanungkarn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ninja Steele! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chaowanungkarn closes the distance but Steele moves to the side and Steele decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chaowanungkarn's guard. Steele throws and elbow that misses. Chaowanungkarn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Steele's guard. Nice move by Chaowanungkarn! Chaowanungkarn wants to control from the top but Steele keeps moving. Chaowanungkarn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steele on the ground. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Steele is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Chaowanungkarn frees his head nicely. Oh but Steele has switched to an armbar! Chaowanungkarn is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
