Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Przemo Nowak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Savage! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage stuffs the takedown attempt from Nowak. Nowak gets slowly back to his feet. Nowak tries to clinch up. Nowak looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Savage! Nowak with shots to the head and body - Savage looks very uncomfortable down there. Nowak prevents Savage from getting the reversal. Nowak sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Nowak looking to secure an arm triangle but Savage defends it well. Nowak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nowak avoids the attempt from Savage to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Nowak. Nowak prevents Savage from getting the reversal. Nowak controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nowak looking to control but Savage is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Savage is trying to escape the mount.
Savage tries to lock up and control but Nowak gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Savage is squirming around, avoiding Nowak's attempts to control the action. Savage can't escape the position.
Savage is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nowak lands a big elbow. Savage manages to regain half guard. Good work. Savage is refusing to be controlled, as Nowak sits in half guard. Savage is looking for a sweep. Nowak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nowak is looking to take a break and control but Savage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nowak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Nowak trying to control the action but Savage is working from the bottom. Savage is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nowak scores with a couple of nice shots. Nowak wants to take a breather but Savage is having none of it. Savage tries to get to full guard but Nowak has control of the leg. Nowak is controlling the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Przemo Nowak. Savage tries for a takedown but Nowak circles away easily and Nowak counters with a nice double leg into guard. Savage looks gassed! Nowak trying to control but Savage is working from the bottom. Savage working a defensive guard here.

Przemo Nowak dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nowak gets the takedown into side control. Savage is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Savage takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Savage misses with a strike from the bottom. Nowak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nowak trying to control the position but Savage is working away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nowak decides to stand back up. Nowak steps back and let's Savage get back to his feet. Savage doesn't succeed with the takedown and Nowak counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nowak wants to pass the guard but Savage is keeping the position. Nowak wants to get up but he can't break Savage's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Nowak looking to sit in guard and control but Savage gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nowak keeping full guard, as Savage tries to pass. Savage stopping the sweep attempt from Nowak. Savage is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Nowak looking for subs off his back but Savage has passed one foot through into half guard.
Przemo Nowak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nowak trying to control but Savage postures up.
Savage content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Nowak is looking to control Savage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nowak avoid being mounted? Nowak blocking the ground and pound attempt from Savage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Savage sitting and controlling from the half guard. Nowak wants to control but Savage passes into side.
Savage cracks Nowak with an elbow. That is naaassty. Savage staying calm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Przemo Nowak dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
A head kick misses from Savage. Nowak with a poor takedown and Savage holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Nowak is trying to push Savage away but Savage has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Nowak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Savage smiles and moves away.
Savage tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nowak paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nowak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savage wants to clinch. Savage shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage tries to clinch but fails miserably and Nowak counters with a single leg into guard. Savage didn't expect that. Savage is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Nowak tries to kick Savage off but Savage keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Savage wants to free his trapped foot but Nowak is holding on for dear life with his legs. Savage looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nowak looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Savage looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Savage sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Nowak defending well though. Savage is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nowak sees it coming and defends easily. Savage is trying to control the action in half guard but Nowak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nowak blocking the ground and pound attempt from Savage. Nowak is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nowak wants to control but Savage is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nowak looks like he's trying to stand up.
Savage winds up and cracks Nowak with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Savage has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Nowak is squirming around, avoiding Savage's attempts to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Przemo Nowak. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nowak, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
