Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Eastman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Trujillo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Eastman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Trujillo!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Eastman.
A solid leg kick lands there for Eastman.
Trujillo throws a sloppy head kick and Eastman moves out of range easily.
Eastman pivots, looking for a leg kick but Trujillo is out of range and Eastman settles back down.
Eastman misses with a low kick.
Eastman takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Eastman cracks the inside of Trujillo's front leg.
Trujillo lands with a good body shot.
Trujillo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Eastman thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Trujillo if he has to take too many more of those.
Eastman tries a head kick but it misses.
Trujillo connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Eastman tries to land a body kick
and Trujillo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Trujillo checks a low kick from Eastman.
Trujillo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eastman.

Trujillo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Trujillo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Eastman is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Trujillo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Eastman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Trujillo tries to roll over but Eastman keeps him under control.

Eastman is looking to take a break and control but Trujillo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Eastman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Trujillo landing rabbit punches to the side of Eastman's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Trujillo trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Eastman manages to pass to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eastman content just to control the position here.
Trujillo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Eastman is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Trujillo is in real trouble.

Trujillo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Eastman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jose Trujillo.
Eastman misses with a takedown
enabling Trujillo to counter with a crisp jab.
Eastman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Trujillo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Eastman somewhat.

and Trujillo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Eastman misses with the body kick
and Trujillo counters with a series of strikes. Eastman will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Trujillo counters with a shoot takedown. Eastman fights it but they end up in guard.

Trujillo thows a big elbow that misses.
Eastman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Eastman wants to pass to mount but Trujillo is defending the position.
Trujillo is staying active underneath Eastman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Trujillo tries to get to full guard but Eastman has control of the leg.
Eastman is trying to control. Trujillo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Eastman is looking to advance position but Trujillo won't allow it.

Eastman is taking a breather. Trujillo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jose Trujillo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Trujillo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Eastman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Eastman lands a head kick. Trujillo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Eastman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Trujillo did well to prevent Eastman getting side control.
Eastman uses his free foot to push down on Trujillo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Trujillo.
Eastman wants to control the pace but Trujillo is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trujillo prevents Eastman from taking his back.
Trujillo wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Trujillo tries to break free.
Trujillo turns into Eastman and is now in his guard.
Trujillo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Trujillo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Eastman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Trujillo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Trujillo's back!

Eastman is trying to stick to Trujillo's back but Trujillo is turning into Eastman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Eastman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Trujillo.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Eastman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Trujillo's guard.
Eastman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Eastman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Eastman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trujillo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

James Eastman showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Eastman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
