PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Farr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farr has chosen Welsh National Anthem as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Farr!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Farr swivels and escapes.
Spencer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Farr's waist but Farr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spencer off to one side.
Spencer shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Spencer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spencer throws a combination that misses
and Farr counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nice takedown defense from Farr. No joy for Spencer on that attempt.
Michael Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Farr scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Farr lands a right hook to the body.
Spencer is breathing heavily.
Jab, jab by Farr - just one landing.
Farr lands with a straight right. Spencer didn't see that one coming.
Farr lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Spencer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spencer moves forwards but Farr connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Farr lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Spencer wants to clinch

and Farr counters with a crisp one two that drops Spencer! Farr thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Spencer to his feet! Spencer is in big trouble!


Spencer is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spencer switches off momentarily and Farr cracks him with a monster right hand! Spencer topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Farr dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Farr!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tommy Farr!
