Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max McRiot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Didell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McRiot comes into the arena with None blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Max McRiot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Didell! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McRiot doesn't succeed with the takedown and Didell counters with a good low kick that McRiot was not able to check. Didell dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Didell misses with a few strikes there.
McRiot doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Didell to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. McRiot misses with a lunging right hand
and Didell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Didell slips under a jab from McRiot. McRiot misses with a left hand and Didell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Didell tries to clinch but McRiot moves away and McRiot counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Didell's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Didell is looking to stand up but McRiot isn't so interested in that idea. McRiot looking to sit in guard and control but Didell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. McRiot throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McRiot is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Didell defends well. McRiot looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McRiot looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McRiot throws his legs up looking for a submission but Didell uses it to pass to side control.
McRiot struggling a bit here. Didell wants to stand but McRiot is controlling his arm. McRiot is looking for a sweep. McRiot struggling a bit here. Didell tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. McRiot is looking to reverse the position. McRiot manages to get back to half guard. McRiot is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Didell pulls his head out easily. McRiot tries to roll over but Didell keeps him under control. Didell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Didell tries to stand but his hand is stuck under McRiot. McRiot gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Chuck Didell will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Didell tests McRiot's chin there with a solid looking shot. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. McRiot gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Didell counter with a right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McRiot misses with a lunging right hand
and Didell counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. McRiot doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Didell scores with a jab. McRiot acknowledges it with a nod of the head. McRiot avoids the body shot from Didell.
McRiot misses with an uppercut
and Didell counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McRiot doesn't succeed with the takedown and Didell counters with a left to the body. McRiot checks a low kick from Didell. Didell pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McRiot with a poor takedown enabling Didell to counter with a crisp jab. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max McRiot. That's going to take a lot out of him. Didell connects with a solid leg kick. McRiot's corner calls for a 1-2. McRiot obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Didell throws an overhand right that lands on McRiot's shoulder, as McRiot tries to avoid the shot. Didell scores with a hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McRiot doesn't succeed with the takedown and McRiot takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Didell looks to land a left hand but McRiot moved out of range nicely. McRiot doesn't succeed with the takedown and Didell counters with a nice body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Didell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
McRiot misses with a takedown attempt and Didell counters with a right hand to the body. Didell throws a predictable looking body shot
and McRiot counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. McRiot thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Didell's head. Didell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McRiot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McRiot tries to pass the half guard into mount. Didell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Didell trying to control but McRiot postures up.
Didell blocking the ground and pound attempt from McRiot. Didell won't allow McRiot to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. McRiot not landing any meaningful shots this time. McRiot not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McRiot trying to mount his opponent but Didell defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McRiot lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. McRiot trying to pass the guard but Didell defending well. Didell tries to kick McRiot off but McRiot keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. McRiot missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McRiot wants to take a breather but Didell is having none of it. Max McRiot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McRiot content to control rather than advance. McRiot prevents Didell from standing back up.
Didell is not content to let McRiot control the position. Didell pushes McRiot off looking to stand but McRiot dives back in and keeps control.
McRiot missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McRiot wants to free his trapped foot but Didell is holding on for dear life with his legs. McRiot is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Didell is trying to stand up here but McRiot is controlling him well. McRiot wants to control but Didell is keeping him busy. McRiot throwing shots but Didell is blocking nicely. McRiot is pressing down on Didell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Didell is holding on for now. McRiot is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Didell is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. McRiot trying to mount his opponent but Didell defends it. Didell is refusing to be controlled, as McRiot sits in half guard. McRiot missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Didell is looking to improve his position.
McRiot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that's the end of the fight! Max McRiot showed his dominance in that final round. I think Didell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
