Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Carboza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Grabowski! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grabowski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carboza sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Carboza throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Carboza throws a lazy head kick and Grabowski counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Grabowski feints and as Carboza raises his hands in defense, Grabowski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Carboza is breathing heavily. Grabowski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Carboza keeping moving, preventing Grabowski from controlling successfully. Carboza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grabowski controls the pace. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
 OK we're going to have a standup here. Damian Grabowski hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Grabowski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carboza but Carboza pushes him off and we're back to square one. Carboza tries a head kick but it misses.
Carboza clinches. Carboza avoids a wild elbow strike from Grabowski.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Grabowski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carboza smiles and moves away.
Luis Carboza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Grabowski. Carboza misses with a takedown attempt
and Grabowski counters with a shoot takedown. Carboza fights it but they end up in guard. Carboza being controlled here, momentarily. It looks like Grabowski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Let's hope that Grabowski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Grabowski trying to control but Carboza is working from the bottom.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Damian Grabowski was stalling too much, according to the referee. Carboza throws a head kick that misses. Luis Carboza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Grabowski. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grabowski in side control, just content to control the action for now.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grabowski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carboza knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carboza tries to bench press Grabowski off him but Grabowski keeps the position. Grabowski prevents Carboza from escaping the position. Carboza striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Carboza is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Grabowski is controlling him well. Grabowski is looking to take a break and control but Carboza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Grabowski is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Carboza is trying to work for a sweep but Grabowski has mounted him! Grabowski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Carboza is squirming around, avoiding Grabowski's attempts to control the action.
Grabowski quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Grabowski but it's paid off an Carboza is forced to tap! Nice work by Grabowski.
