Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iggy Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dusty Covers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guerrero kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is La Bamba. Covers has chosen All within My Hands as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Iggy Guerrero has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iggy Guerrero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dusty Covers! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Covers throws a leg kick and Guerrero counters with a thumping low kick. Nice uppercut lands for Covers. That snapped Guerrero's head back.
Guerrero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Guerrero closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Covers circles away from the clinch attempt and Covers counters with a straight right hand. Covers tries to keep at a distance but Guerrero has taken the fight into the clinch. Covers wants to break free but Guerrero has control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Covers working hard to break the clinch. Covers lands a hook to the side of the head. Guerrero has Covers pushed against the cage. Covers misses with the head strike.
Covers avoids a wild elbow strike from Guerrero. Covers is trying to break free. Covers is looking to break free of the clinch but Guerrero has double underhooks. Guerrero creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Guerrero using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Covers has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Covers being controlled against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Covers. Covers looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Guerrero fails to pull guard.

Guerrero prevents Covers from breaking the clinch. Covers has had enough of the clinch but Guerrero keeps him there for the moment. Covers lands with a right to the head. Covers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Guerrero swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Guerrero tries to stall but Covers uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Covers as Guerrero tries to tie him up. Come on Covers - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Covers has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Covers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Covers throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Covers misses with a shot to the body and Guerrero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Guerrero moves away from the strike by Covers. Covers throws a predictable looking body shot
and Guerrero counters by moving into the clinch. Guerrero misses with an elbow over the top. Guerrero letting Covers take a breather here. Guerrero fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iggy Guerrero. That's going to take a lot out of him. A short right hand to the side of the head by Guerrero. Covers lands a hook to the side of the head. Guerrero tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerrero trying to control the position but instead, Covers has worked for underhooks and has pushed Guerrero into the cage. Guerrero jumps guard but Covers stands there with Guerrero around his waist. Guerrero gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Covers lands a shoulder strike. Guerrero tries to stall but Covers uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Guerrero jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Covers walks away with a smile on his face. Guerrero gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Covers on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Guerrero. Guerrero obviously looking to wear him down.
Guerrero takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A jab from Covers does it's job there. Covers throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Guerrero looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Covers has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Covers scores with a three punch combo!
It looks like Iggy Guerrero has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guerrero tries to clinch but fails miserably and Covers counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Guerrero is rocked! Guerrero is breathing heavily. Covers tries to land a front kick but Guerrero steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Guerrero on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Guerrero darts in trying to clinch and Covers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Donk. Covers catches Guerrero right on the button with a cross. Covers darts in and out, connecting with a jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dusty Covers dominated that round. The cut man is working on Iggy Guerrero's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Covers throws a hook to the side of Guerrero's head but Guerrero sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Guerrero moves out of range of the body kick. Guerrero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Covers avoids it really well and circles away. An inside leg kick from Covers misses. Covers lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guerrero looks to land a body kick but Covers moved away. Guerrero fails with a takedown attempt. Guerrero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iggy Guerrero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Guerrero counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Guerrero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Covers keeps working. Covers is looking to escape.

Covers preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Guerrero is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Covers has managed to free his arm - good work. Guerrero not doing much here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guerrero trying to control the action but Covers is working from the bottom. Guerrero is taking a breather. Covers says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Covers bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Guerrero's head. Covers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Guerrero moves away. Nice cross by Covers.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Covers misses with a right hand and Guerrero counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A short left from Covers. Guerrero softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Covers working hard to break the clinch. Guerrero taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Guerrero lands a damaging elbow. Covers is trying to push Guerrero away but Guerrero has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Guerrero swings wildly with an uppercut but Covers uses good head movement to avoid it. Covers wants to get back to striking at distance but Guerrero won't allow it.
Covers tries to break free but Guerrero pushes him back against the cage. Guerrero tries to land knees in the clinch but Covers avoids the damage to the body. Guerrero keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Covers's efforts to push away. Covers is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Covers has had enough of the clinch but Guerrero keeps him there for the moment. A nice right hand lands inside from Covers. Guerrero jumps guard but Covers stands there with Guerrero around his waist. Guerrero gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Dusty Covers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Iggy Guerrero's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Guerrero on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Covers waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Guerrero. Covers throws a series of punches but Guerrero moves out of range. Guerrero is looking to clinch but Covers is avoiding it.
Guerrero is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Covers's half guard. Guerrero passes the guard and advances to mount! Guerrero prevents Covers from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerrero swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Covers is now in Guerrero's guard. A big mistake from Guerrero there, giving up the dominant position! Covers wants to control from the top but Guerrero keeps moving. Guerrero trying to keep a closed guard but Covers is proving a slippery customer.
Covers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Guerrero works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Guerrero has his foot on Covers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Covers works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Covers throws a strike but Guerrero rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Guerrero wants to control from the top but Covers keeps moving. Covers looking for a sweep. Not yet Covers, not yet. Covers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guerrero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Guerrero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Guerrero tries to free his leg and advance position but Covers is retaining full guard. Guerrero's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Covers pulls Guerrero in close to prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Iggy Guerrero. Covers throws a leg kick that is checked and Covers takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Covers lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Covers misses with an uppercut
and Guerrero counters with a takedown into side control. Guerrero prevents Covers from escaping the position. Guerrero wants to control but Covers is keeping him busy. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Covers can do anything to dispel that myth. Guerrero prevents Covers from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guerrero trying to control the position but Covers is working away. Guerrero has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Covers! Guerrero trying to control but he's not successful this time. Guerrero controlling his opponent. Iggy Guerrero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Guerrero looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that's the end of the fight! Iggy Guerrero showed his dominance in that final round. I think Covers has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
