Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Buckley! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredo Parish! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buckley tries for a takedown but Parish circles away easily and Parish makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Parish loads up on a big right hand but Buckley slips the punch. Parish throws a body punch but Buckley moves out of range. Parish swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice shot lands for Parish. Buckley shoots and misses and Parish counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like William Buckley has been cut. Parish cracks Buckley with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Parish misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckley misses with a takedown attempt and Parish counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Buckley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parish working Buckley over with strikes. Parish is trying to work for a kimura but Buckley is defending well.
Buckley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parish on the ground. Buckley keeping hold of Parish's head, controlling as best he can. Buckley trying to hold on to Parish's head to control him but Parish postures up.
Parish wants to pass to mount but Buckley is defending the position. Buckley is trying to get back to full guard. Buckley moves into full guard.
Parish has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Parish preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parish trying to control the position from guard on top but Buckley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Buckley looking for a sweep. Not yet Buckley, not yet. Parish postures up in Buckley's guard and throws a big left but Buckley blocks it. Parish throws a big right hand that misses. Buckley working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Parish. Parish won't allow Buckley to sweep him here. Buckley is working hard here to advance position. Parish controlling from the top position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Parish throws a body punch but Buckley moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parish looks to score with a jab to the body but Buckley is just out of range. Buckley has his takedown stuffed and Parish connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Parish scores with the left hand. Buckley knows he should have avoided that one. A shot to the liver by Parish. Beautiful body shot. Buckley gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Parish gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Buckley is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fredo Parish! Fredo Parish is the new heavyweight champion!
