Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mizuro Goenji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomas Vrbada!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vrbada fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Goenji scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Goenji seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vrbada does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Goenji frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Goenji there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Goenji can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vrbada is looking to escape.
Goenji looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Goenji is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Vrbada to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vrbada shrugs it off.
Goenji throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Vrbada has his hands clasped together but Goenji breaks the hold and Vrbada is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Goenji!
