Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Victor Hawk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Spliff! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spliff takes one to the side of the head.
Hawk lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Spliff is rocked! Hawk misses with a combination
and Spliff counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hawk's guard now. Spliff stops Hawk from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spliff thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Spliff prevents Hawk from getting back to his feet. Spliff passes Hawk's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hawk is looking to escape. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Spliff wants to pass the guard but Hawk is defending well. Hawk looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hawk kicks Spliff off and gets back to his feet. Hawk lands a glancing blow to the side of Spliff's head. Spliff is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Spliff takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hawk goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Hawk doesn't succeed with the takedown and Spliff counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Spliff. Hawk wants to stand but Spliff is controlling the position. Hawk is breathing heavily. Spliff drops back looking for a leg! Hawk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hawk manages to kick Spliff off! Spliff jumps back into Hawk's guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Spliff drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Spliff jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hawk wriggles free and stands up. Spliff gets caught napping as Hawk dives in and scores a takedown. Spliff manages to retain guard. Hawk throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Spliff utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hawk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Spliff working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hawk. Hawk content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hawk gets to his feet - Spliff follows without any prompting. Hawk ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spliff moves away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hawk stalks Spliff and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Spliff's face. Spliff staggers backwards, shaken. Hawk misses with a takedown and Spliff counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hawk! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Victor Hawk will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hawk jabs Spliff right on the nose. Spliff blinks but takes it well. Hawk closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hawk working the strikes but Spliff uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Well, if Hawk is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hawk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Spliff's head. Hawk stands up out of the half guard. Hawk misses with a two punch combination.

Spliff fails with the takedown. Hawk tries to bum rush Spliff with a series of wild strikes but Spliff uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Spliff takes a shot right to the bread basket. Spliff slips a jab from Hawk. Spliff misses with a takedown attempt and Hawk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hawk misses with a takedown and Spliff counters with a shoot takedown. Hawk fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hawk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spliff is controlling him. Spliff thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Victor Hawk will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Spliff has his takedown stuffed and Hawk counters with a left and a right that stings Spliff. Hawk misses with the combination.
Hawk throws a right hand that Spliff ducks under and follows up with a left that Spliff also avoids with ease. Hawk jabbing away but nothing is landing. A momentary lapse in concentration from Spliff enables Hawk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Spliff manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Spliff working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hawk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Spliff had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hawk defends it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spliff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Spliff preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hawk throws a big right hand that misses. Hawk trying to control but Spliff is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hawk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hawk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hawk throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hawk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hawk passes Spliff's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hawk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Spliff keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hawk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Spliff's head. Hawk scoring with strikes to the body and head. Hawk thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Spliff looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hawk is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Spliff! Hawk dominating with strikes here. Eddie Spliff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Victor Hawk is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Spliff is looking to improve his position but Hawk isn't that keen on the idea.
And that's the end of the fight! Victor Hawk showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hawk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
