Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Kay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Maurice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maurice has chosen Quiet Storm as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kay throws a low kick but it's checked well by Maurice. Maurice throws a combination that misses and Kay counters with a lovely shot to the body. Maurice blocks a low kick nicely. Maurice tries to keep at a distance but Kay has taken the fight into the clinch. Kay softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Kay. Maurice looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A frustrated look appears on Maurice's face as he tries to break the clinch. A short right from Kay. A shot in the inside from Kay.
It looks like Kenneth Maurice has been cut. Kay prevents Maurice from breaking the clinch. A left hand lands to the body for Kay.
Kay lands a left hand.
Maurice is looking to break free of the clinch but Kay has double underhooks. Kay breaks from the clinch.
Maurice misses with a right hand and Kay counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maurice misses with a lunging right hand
and Kay moves into the clinch. Kay drops Maurice onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Maurice is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Maurice is rocked! Kay lands a shot to the body. Maurice is still on wobbly legs! Can Kay finish him? Maurice looks gassed! Kay manages to break the clinch.

Maurice seems to have recovered his senses. Kay connects with a nice looking jab.

Kay swings away with a leg kick that misses. Nice jab there from Kay. Maurice dodges the punch combination from Kay.
Nice takedown defense from Kay. No joy for Maurice on that attempt. Maurice falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kay counters with an inside leg kick. Kay fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kay pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maurice is out of range and Kay settles back down. Kay fails to land with a series of punches.
Kay lands a jab to Maurice's midsection. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kay throws a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kay throws a series of punches but Maurice avoids them all with ease. Kay rushes Maurice and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kay lands a left hand.
That has opened up Kenneth Maurice's cut even more. Kay works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Kay breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kay will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kay scores with a nice head shot. Kay's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Maurice connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kay scrambles back to his feet. Kenneth Maurice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kay throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Maurice takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jay Kay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kay has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kay lands with a right hand. Maurice shoots in but Kay avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kay misses with a low kick. Maurice throws an off balance right hand
and Kay counters with a straight right hand. Maurice slips a jab and a cross from Kay.
The crowd cheers as Kay lands an impressive looking overhand right. Maurice doesn't seem phased though. Maurice throws a right hand that misses
and Kay counters by moving into the clinch. Kay throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Maurices head. Kay prevents Maurice from breaking the clinch. Kay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Donk. Maurice catches Kay right on the button with a cross. Maurice throws a poor cross that misses
and Kay holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kay lands with a light punch inside. Maurice wants a takedown.
Jay Kay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenneth Maurice. A short body shot lands from Kay as the two fighters clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kay manages to break the clinch.
Kay throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kay throws a series of punches but Maurice moves out of range. Kay scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Maurice throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Maurice throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Maurice takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kay lands a right hook to the body.
Kay is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Kay connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The cut above Kenneth Maurice's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Kay throws a nice inside leg kick. Decent striking displayed by Kay there. Kay moves into the clinch successfully.
Kay prevents Maurice from breaking the clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kay lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Kay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kay misses with the combination.
Kay moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Kay dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kenneth Maurice's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Maurice fails with the takedown and Kay counters with a three punch combo that has Maurice backing up. Maurice nods at Kay to acknowledge the strikes. Maurice tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kay was well out of range. Poor timing from Maurice. Kay misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kay throws a right and a left that Maurice avoids nicely. Maurice tests Kay's chin there with a solid looking shot. Maurice misses with a hook
letting Kay counter with a right hand. Maurice scores with a punch to the head. Maurice misses with a hook to the body
and Kay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Maurice thows a body shot but no joy. Kay scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Kay fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maurice, pushing him back against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Maurice is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Maurice is breathing heavily. Kay will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Maurice up against the cage. Kay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Maurice takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Kay lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Maurice backs up against the cage.
Jay Kay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maurice digs a good body shot into Kay's ribs. Maurice is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kay.
Kenneth Maurice's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. A leg kick checked by Maurice. Kay throws a one two combo.
Kay takes the fight into the clinch. Kay's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kay goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Maurice shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kay eats them both and turns towards Maurice to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Maurice rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kay counters with a two punch combo.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kenneth Maurice's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jay Kay!
