Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Willy Cody! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jin Takeda! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeda misses with a series of wild punches.
Takeda scores with a jab. Takeda tries to bum rush Cody with a series of wild strikes but Cody uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cody lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Takeda has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Takeda and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Takeda swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takeda blocks a head kick by Cody.
Takeda clinches up against the cage. Cody is looking to control Takeda's arms but Takeda gets an underhook and turns him. Now Cody has his back to the cage. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cody obliges. Takeda looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! Takeda is trying to drag Cody to the mat but Cody just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cody keeps control of Takeda as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Both fighters working to control the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeda takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Jin Takeda has been cut. Cody with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Takeda wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Cody lands an elbow just above Takeda 's eye. Cody's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Willy Cody is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Takeda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cody circles away quickly and effectively. Cody tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Willy Cody seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A kick lands to the mid section there for Cody. Cody scores with a leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cody scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Cody lands a leg kick that knocks Takeda off balance momentarily. Takeda takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cody buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cody lands with a slapping head kick. Takeda steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cody. Cody closes the distance and clinches. Cody with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Cody lands a hook to the side of the head. Cody connects with a nasty looking knee right to Takeda's face.
That has opened up Jin Takeda's cut even more. Cody scores with a knee to the head.
Cody misses with a knee to the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Cody tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Cody lands an elbow inside that Takeda shrugs off. Cody crunches a lovely knee into Takeda's ribcage.

The cut above Jin Takeda's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Cody connects with a nasty looking knee right to Takeda's face.

Cody comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Takeda is trying to push Cody away but Cody has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Cody with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Takeda working hard to break the clinch. Takeda is looking to break free of the clinch but Cody has double underhooks. Takeda is trying to break the clinch but Cody is controlling him. Cody keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Takeda's efforts to push away. Cody tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Takeda wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cody has him pressed against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Takeda is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Takeda can't break the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Takeda can't break the clinch.
Takeda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Takeda attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Cody fails in his attempt to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willy Cody dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jin Takeda's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Takeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Cody. Cody throws a sloppy head kick and Takeda moves out of range easily. Cody tries to clinch there but Takeda circles away.
Takeda throws a right and a left that Cody avoids nicely. Cody misses with a wild body shot. Jin Takeda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cody motions for Takeda to come forward. Cody throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Cody throws a body punch but Takeda moves out of range. Takeda swats away the attempt to clinch by Cody.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cody fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Takeda, pushing him back against the cage. Cody with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Cody prevents Takeda from breaking the clinch. Cody lands on the inside with an uppercut. A frustrated look appears on Takeda's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cody prevents Takeda from breaking the clinch. Cody unloads a knee to the mid-section. Takeda is trying to push Cody away but Cody has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Takeda is trying to break the clinch but Cody has him pressed against the cage. A knee to the head by Cody.
Takeda's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Takeda lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeda blocks a low kick nicely. Takeda swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Takeda lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Willy Cody is winning the standup battle so far. Takeda throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Cody throws a leg kick and Takeda counters with a two punch combo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cody showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Takeda.

Cody is looking to score with low kicks. Cody tries to close the distance and clinch but Takeda swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cody doesn't manage to clinch there - Takeda circles away.
Cody throws a chopping leg kick but Takeda manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Takeda throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cody counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Cody moves into range and clinches up with Takeda. Cody gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Jin Takeda's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Cody has Takeda pressed against the cage, preventing Takeda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takeda looking for a takedown. Knees to the body from Cody.
Takeda is breathing heavily. Cody with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jin Takeda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
