Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael McCulloch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCulloch comes into the arena with Drowning Pool - Bodies blaring out of the sound system. Guy Owen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCulloch throws a shot from downtown. Owen moves away and avoids it.

Owen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McCulloch quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Owen is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Owen feints a jab promting McCulloch to slip. Owen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McCulloch slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McCulloch throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Owen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McCulloch is in Owen's guard.

McCulloch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McCulloch uses his free foot to push down on Owen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Owen.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Owen looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out!
