Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Austern sprawls well initially but Cooper persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Cooper slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Aaron Cooper just wasn't active enough. Austern misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Austern moves in looking to clinch but Cooper pushes him off. Austern takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Austern, pushing him back against the ropes. A short left from Cooper. Cooper managing to block the knees to the body from Austern.

Cooper lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Austern or not. Cooper blocks an elbow strike. Cooper can't find room to land a body shot as Austern controls the action.
Cooper lands a body punch. Cooper lands with a short shot to the head. Cooper lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Austern backwards. Austern avoiding damage as Cooper throws knees to the body.
Austern wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cooper lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Austern.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Austern pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes. Austern throws an elbow but it misses.
Cooper tries to work over Austern's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Cooper keeps control of Austern as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cooper lands on the inside with an uppercut. Austern misses with an elbow over the top. Cooper lands a body punch. Cooper lands a nice uppercut. Austern pushes off an throws an elbow but Cooper leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes. A nice left hand lands by Cooper.
Austern wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cooper has him pressed against the ropes. Cooper is working Austern over against the ropes. Austern prevents a body shot from Cooper.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper lands a nice shot to the body. Cooper changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Austern fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Austern wants to clinch but Cooper slips to the side and Cooper counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Austern! Cooper looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Aaron Cooper has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Cooper lands with a nice body punch. Cooper fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Austern doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cooper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Austern keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cooper cracks Austern with a right hand to the side of the head. Austern tries to clinch but Cooper moves away and Cooper cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cooper misses with a body shot.
Cooper scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Cooper dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Austern wants to clinch but Cooper slips to the side and Cooper holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Cooper throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Cooper tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Cooper avoids the elbow strike from Austern, against the ropes.

Cooper scores with a hook to the body. Austern is trying to push Cooper away but Cooper has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Cooper avoids a wild elbow strike from Austern. Austern misses with an elbow strike.
Cooper turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cooper manages to end up in side control. Austern is trying to escape the position but Cooper is controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Austern can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooper's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Cooper scores with a hook to the body. Austern takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Austern ducks right into an uppercut from Cooper. Cooper lands with a good body shot. Austern is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A head kick misses from Austern. Nick Austern is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cooper lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Austern closes the distance looking to clinch and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cooper seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Cooper advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Cooper content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooper pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Austern tumbling to the mat - Cooper dives into Austern's guard. Cooper tries to free his leg and advance position but Austern is retaining full guard. Aaron Cooper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cooper content to stall in guard here. Cooper trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper stands and throws Austern's legs to the side, diving into side control. Austern is trying to escape the position but Cooper is controlling the position. Cooper seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Austern for as long as he can get away with. Austern takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cooper passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Austern! Nick Austern has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Austern throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Cooper tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Cooper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Aaron Cooper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
