Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brock Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erevis Cale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Enter Sandman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Shamrock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erevis Cale! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cale lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shamrock's sensitive parts. Cale has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cale there as he acknowledges the shot. Shamrock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cale circles away quickly and effectively. Brock Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shamrock stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cale. Shamrock throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cale finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Shamrock throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cale counters with a single leg into guard. Shamrock didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cale is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Shamrock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cale on the ground. Cale slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cale staying calm. Cale stands up and beckons Shamrock to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock stuffs the takedown attempt from Cale. Cale gets slowly back to his feet. Shamrock throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cale counters with a solid body kick. Cale lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Cale fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shamrock. Cale connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Shamrock is breathing heavily. Cale misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shamrock really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cale misses with a wild body shot. Shamrock lands the left hand. Cale tries to clinch but Shamrock is having none of it. Shamrock throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cale holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Cale stalling in the clinch.
Cale continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Shamrock is trying to break free. Shamrock is trying to break free. Cale unloads a knee to the mid-section.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shamrock is trying to break free. Shamrock wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cale has him pressed against the cage. Cale pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Shamrock throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cale counters with a low kick, right behind Shamrock 's knee. Cale takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Shamrock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cale. Brock Shamrock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cale tries to close the distance and clinch but Shamrock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shamrock throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cale counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cale with a knee to the head.
Cale keeps control of Shamrock as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cale escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shamrock misses with a double jab
and Cale counters with a head kick. That will keep Shamrock thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cale throws a nice outside leg kick. Cale looks to land a body kick but Shamrock moved away. Sloppy strikes from Shamrock. Those never looked like landing. Cale moves into range and clinches up with Shamrock.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cale stalls. Cale lands a knee to the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cale obliges. Cale using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Shamrock wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cale has him pressed against the cage. Shamrock is trying to break free. Cale just leaning against Shamrock, taking a breather. Shamrock takes a knee right on the jaw!

and Cale counters by moving into the clinch. Shamrock wants to get back to striking at distance but Cale won't allow it.

Shamrock wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cale stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Cale obliges. Cale works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Cale looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Cale stands up from Shamrock's guard - Cale perhaps looking for a knockout. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Erevis Cale dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cale misses with a takedown attempt - Shamrock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cale throws a head kick but Shamrock moves out of range.

and Shamrock counters with a left and a right that stings Cale. Cale throws a body kick that misses. Cale is looking to slow Shamrock down with leg kicks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shamrock stalks Cale and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cale's face. Cale staggers backwards, shaken. Shamrock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shamrock feints a jab promting Cale to slip. Shamrock then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cale slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Shamrock is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Shamrock throws a combination that misses and Cale counters by moving into the clinch. Shamrock wants to break the clinch but can't.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Cale. Cale escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Cale counters with a solid body kick. Erevis Cale seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shamrock falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cale counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Shamrock is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Cale misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shamrock throws a right and a left that both miss. Shamrock defending well as Cale loads up on a big left hand. Shamrock throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Cale drives through with a takedown into guard. Shamrock can't keep his opponent in guard - Cale advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cale controlling the action here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cale is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shamrock defends it well. Shamrock on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shamrock tries to get out of the position. Shamrock blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cale.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cale trying to control the pace. Cale is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cale is looking to take a break and control but Shamrock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cale wants to pass to mount but Shamrock is defending the position. Shamrock looks like he's trying to stand up.

Erevis Cale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

so Cale counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Cale sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shamrock's guard. Cale is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cale wants to take a breather but Shamrock is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock is in trouble now - Cale has advanced to mount! Cale has control of Shamrock's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Shamrock regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cale content just to control the position here. Cale with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shamrock holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Cale tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Cale controlling the pace for now. Poor strikes thrown by Cale there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Cale unloads with some shots from mount but Shamrock bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cale punching from mount but Shamrock doing a good job of avoiding damage. Cale controlling his opponent. Cale with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cale throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Erevis Cale is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cale won't let Shamrock get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Cale controlling from the full mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Erevis Cale comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cale has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
