The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mysterio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Targaryen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mysterio can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mysterio drops back, looking for a kneebar! Targaryen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Targaryen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Targaryen!
Targaryen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mysterio, who protects the arm well.
Mysterio manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Targaryen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mysterio.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mysterio connects with a nice short shot to Targaryen's temple.
Mysterio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Targaryen defends it well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Mysterio uses his free foot to push down on Targaryen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Targaryen.

It looks like Rhaegal Targaryen has been cut.

Rhaegal Targaryen's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rhaegal Targaryen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
