PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jakcob Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Messatsu Shouryuu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jakcob Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Messatsu Shouryuu!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Brown works his foot free and advances to mount.

Brown stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Shouryuu tries for a takedown but Brown circles away easily

and Brown decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shouryuu's guard.
Brown content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Brown gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Some wild striking there from Shouryuu.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brown tries to clinch but Shouryuu moves away
and Shouryuu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Shouryuu moves into the clinch.

Shouryuu goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brown prevents it.
Shouryuu tries for a takedown but Brown manages to get underhooks.
Jakcob Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Messatsu Shouryuu.

Brown manages to pull guard.
Shouryuu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Brown has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shouryuu off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Brown drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Brown decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shouryuu tries to clinch up

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee asks Brown politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brown prefers to stall for the moment though.

Brown decides to stand up, so the ref orders Shouryuu to his feet.

Shouryuu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Brown gets to his feet - Shouryuu follows without any prompting.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shouryuu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Brown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shouryuu pinned against the cage. Shouryuu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Shouryuu has Brown up against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Brown's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Shouryuu jumps guard.
Shouryuu can't keep his opponent in guard - Brown advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Shouryuu has hold of Brown's hands but Brown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Shouryuu wants to control but Brown passes into side.
A lull in the action here as Brown stalls from top position.

Brown decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shouryuu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
I wouldn't like to be where Brown is right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jakcob Brown dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Brown blocks a head kick by Shouryuu.
Shouryuu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Brown gets a takedown into half guard.
Brown controlling the pace.
Brown seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shouryuu for as long as he can get away with.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Brown uses his free foot to push down on Shouryuu's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shouryuu.

Brown stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Shouryuu scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Brown drives through with a takedown into Shouryuu's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Brown is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Shouryuu is looking for a triangle here but Brown uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Brown has an Americana. Shouryuu didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brown is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brown hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
