Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jokke Mela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mela comes to the cage accompanied by Da Rockwilder . Williams has chosen All the Above- Maino ft. T-Pain as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mela avoids the body shot from Williams.
Williams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Williams throws a right and a left that Mela avoids nicely. Mela fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Williams manages to avoid it. Mela misses the shot to the body. Mela fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away. The fighters circling - Mela throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Williams misses with a lunging right hand
and Mela counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mela fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mela throws an off balance right hand
and Williams counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Williams fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mela manages to avoid it. Mela closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mela. Williams manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Williams wants to get back to his feet but Mela is holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mela is trying to escape the mount.
Mela is squirming around, avoiding Williams's attempts to control the action. Mela wants to hold on but Williams pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mela is looking to get to half guard. Williams stands up from mount. Strange move. Mela misses with a jab to the body
and Williams cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mela misses with a double jab.
Mela misses the shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mela swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mela throws a right hand that misses
enabling Williams to counter with a crisp jab. Williams slips a jab from Mela. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mela is defended easily by Williams. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jokke Mela. That's going to take a lot out of him. Williams throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Mela slips under a jab from Williams. Williams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mela was well out of range. Poor timing from Williams. Mela misses with a shot to the body and Williams counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mela is looking to wear down Williams with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Mela thows a body shot but no joy. Mela throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Williams counters with a stiff right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Williams dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Mela lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nice body kick from Williams. Williams swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Williams swings for the body but Mela moves out of range.

and Mela counters with a three punch combo that has Williams backing up. Williams nods at Mela to acknowledge the strikes. Williams misses with a lunging right hand
and Mela counters with a nice uppercut. Mela has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Mela throws a left and a right that both miss
and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Williams ducks under a wild hook from Mela. Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mela throws out the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams throws a sloppy body shot
and Mela cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mela misses the jab. Mela throws a poor cross that misses
and Williams counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. A head kick misses from Williams. Williams throws a hook but Mela avoids it easily. Williams takes one to the side of the head.
Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Williams connects with a right hand. Mela shakes it off. Mela shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mela gets slowly back to his feet. Williams misses with a series of wild punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mela throws a right hand that misses
and Williams counters with a two punch combo. Williams swings widly with a right hand
and Williams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mela looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Williams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Mela misses with a hook to the body
and Williams counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Williams works over Mela's head and body with a nice combination.
Mela is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williams throws a poor cross that misses
letting Mela counter with a right hand. Oh Mela is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mela misses the body punch and Williams counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams connects with a stiff jab that staggers Mela - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Paul Williams! Paul Williams is the new bantamweight champion!
