PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diesel Kone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ho Sung Pak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pak comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stronger with each beat I will defeat you kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Diesel Kone has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Diesel Kone seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Diesel Kone wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Pak fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kone manages to avoid it.
Kone lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Kone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pak sees it coming and avoids it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pak throws a lazy right hand but Kone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kone is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pak's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kone motions for Pak to come forward. Kone throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Kone fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pak to the ground. Kone is now in Pak's guard.
Pak wants to sweep but no luck.
Kone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kone wants to control from the top but Pak keeps moving.
Pak controls Kone momentarily but Kone frees himself.

Kone won't allow Pak to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pak ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kone lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kone connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Pak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kone was well out of range. Poor timing from Pak.

Kone lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pak circles away quickly and effectively.

The fighters circle momentarily. Pak darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Pak chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kone can pounce on him.

Kone closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pak's guard.

Pak has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Pak is looking for a sweep. Kone is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Pak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kone is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pak is refusing to be controlled, as Kone sits in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pak swings for the body but Kone moves out of range.
The fighters circling - Pak throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Kone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pak.
Kone thuds his right hand into Pak's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Pak throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kone on the side of the head.

Kone pivots, looking for a leg kick but Pak is out of range and Kone settles back down.

Kone takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kone will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kone is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pak is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
