Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Douglas Neddles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan The Wrath! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neddles tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Wrath swivels and escapes. Neddles misses with a leg kick and The Wrath cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Neddles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Neddles wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Wrath keeps working. Neddles throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The Wrath gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Wrath looks gassed! Neddles tries to control but The Wrath wriggling away. Neddles looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neddles is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, The Wrath has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Neddles can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as The Wrath is looking to escape. Neddles with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Neddles throws some wild stikes that The Wrath manages to avoid easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Neddles working for a submission but The Wrath is keeping him at bay. The Wrath tries to reverse the position but Neddles maintains control. The Wrath wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Neddles.
Neddles lands with some strikes. Neddles throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Neddles is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but The Wrath is surviving well by controlling Neddles's body position as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neddles jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… The Wrath is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by The Wrath and Neddles has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Neddles remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Neddles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Neddles has worked his way into a potential kimura here. The Wrath is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Neddles yanks on the arm and The Wrath is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Neddles.
