The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Read on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Read with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jay counters with a right hand to the body.
Read has his takedown stuffed
and Jay counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Read thinking.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Read. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Read is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Read gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Tony Read seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Read takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jab from Jay.
Jay punishes Read's body with a nice straight punch.
Jay circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Read to the canvas! Read doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Jay keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
