Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thiago Suzuki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sting Steiner! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suzuki misses with a lunging right hand
and Steiner counters with an outside leg kick.
Steiner misses with a right hand and Suzuki counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Suzuki staying out of range there. Steiner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Suzuki.

Suzuki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steiner but Steiner pushes him off and we're back to square one. Steiner swats away the attempt to clinch by Suzuki. Suzuki thumps Steiner with a low kick. Steiner moves out of range as Suzuki strikes. The fighters circling - Suzuki throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Suzuki with a jab. Suzuki throws an off balance right hand
and Steiner counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Suzuki is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steiner avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Suzuki misses the body punch and Steiner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Suzuki throws a solid leg kick but Steiner takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Suzuki. Suzuki looks to score with a jab to the body but Steiner is just out of range. Suzuki throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Steiner to counter with a crisp jab. No luck with that takedown attempt from Suzuki. A low kick from Suzuki is predictable there and Steiner counters with a leg kick. Thiago Suzuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Suzuki. Steiner does a little dance to reset his feet. Suzuki misses with a takedown and Steiner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Suzuki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suzuki is looking to slow Steiner down with leg kicks. Suzuki throws a sloppy body shot
and Steiner counters with a left to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suzuki closes the distance and clinches. Steiner working some nice short punches in the clinch. Steiner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Steiner counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Suzuki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Steiner.
Suzuki looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Steiner has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suzuki stopping the sweep attempt from Steiner. Suzuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Steiner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suzuki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Suzuki wants to control from the top but Steiner keeps moving. Suzuki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Suzuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Steiner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Suzuki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Suzuki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Suzuki thows a big elbow that misses. Steiner keeping moving, preventing Suzuki from controlling successfully. Suzuki throws and elbow that misses. Steiner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Suzuki's guard. Nice move by Steiner! Suzuki working a defensive guard here.
Steiner looking to sit in guard and control but Suzuki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Steiner controls Suzuki momentarily but Suzuki frees himself. Steiner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Suzuki is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sting Steiner dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Steiner counters with a thumping low kick. Steiner avoids the body shot from Suzuki.

and Steiner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Suzuki thinking. Suzuki throws a sloppy head kick and Steiner counters with a straight right hand. Steiner throws a wild body kick that Suzuki sees coming a mile off. Suzuki misses with a shot to the body and Steiner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steiner lunges at Suzuki with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Suzuki's hand. Suzuki looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sting Steiner seems to be getting the better of the standup. Suzuki throws a poor cross that misses
and Steiner counters with a straight right hand. Steiner throws a leg kick that is checked and Suzuki counters with a lovely shot to the body. Suzuki misses with a combination
and Steiner counters with a nice uppercut. Nice shot by Suzuki. Suzuki throws a lazy uppercut
and Steiner counters with a nice body kick.
Steiner misses with a wild body shot. Steiner uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Suzuki comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Suzuki looks to clinch and Suzuki takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Suzuki lands with a nice body kick. A low kick from Suzuki is predictable there and Steiner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Suzuki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Steiner. That did some damage! Steiner misses with a head kick.

Steiner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Suzuki misses the jab. Suzuki cracks the inside of Steiner's front leg. Steiner lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Suzuki steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Steiner. Suzuki listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Suzuki lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Suzuki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steiner pinned against the cage. Steiner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Steiner slips a jab from Suzuki. Suzuki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Suzuki fails in his attempt to clinch. Steiner tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Suzuki is able to avoid easily. Suzuki throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Steiner loads up on a big right hand but Suzuki slips the punch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A low kick from Suzuki is predictable there and Steiner counters with a lovely straight right hand! Suzuki misses with a left hand and Steiner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Suzuki thinking. Suzuki scores with a nice strike. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sting Steiner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Suzuki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steiner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Suzuki somewhat. A chopping leg kick lands by Suzuki. Suzuki throws a leg kick and Steiner counters with a good low kick that Suzuki was not able to check. Suzuki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steiner as he jumps to the side. Suzuki swings and misses with a shot to the body and Steiner counters with a slapping leg kick. Suzuki lands with a thumping leg kick.

Steiner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Suzuki throws out the jab. Suzuki misses with a right hand and Steiner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Steiner steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Suzuki. Sting Steiner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Suzuki shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Steiner throws a shot to the body.
Suzuki throws a jab but it's blocked by Steiner. Steiner looks to land a body kick but Suzuki moved away. Suzuki is looking to clinch but Steiner is avoiding it.
A shot to the liver by Suzuki. Beautiful body shot. Suzuki misses with a wild body shot. Steiner looks to score with a jab to the body but Suzuki is just out of range. Thiago Suzuki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice inside leg kick there by Suzuki. That's going to slow Steiner down. Steiner's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Suzuki misses with a low kick.
Suzuki tries to clinch but Steiner moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Steiner. Suzuki does a little dance to reset his feet. Steiner circles away from the clinch attempt and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Steiner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Suzuki shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Suzuki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suzuki cracks Steiner with a right hand to the side of the head. Suzuki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Steiner counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steiner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Suzuki lands a jab to the nose. Steiner throws a predictable looking body shot
and Suzuki counters with an inside leg kick. Suzuki scores a takedown into full mount! Steiner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Suzuki lands with some strikes. Suzuki throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Sting Steiner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Suzuki throws some wild stikes that Steiner manages to avoid easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Steiner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Poor strikes thrown by Suzuki there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Suzuki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Steiner wants to control but Suzuki is having none of it. Steiner is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Suzuki throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
And that's the end of the fight! Thiago Suzuki showed his dominance in that final round. I think Steiner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
