Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Mitterer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Steve Bosse! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Mitterer. Mitterer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bosse on his heels. He'll look to pass Bosse's guard now, I'm sure. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mitterer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mitterer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bosse is keeping the position for now. Mitterer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bosse has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Steve Bosse has been cut. Mitterer throws a lazy head kick and Bosse moves into the clinch. Mitterer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mitterer closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mitterer wants to get back to striking at distance but Bosse won't allow it.

Bosse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mitterer! Mitterer bucks Bosse off and manages to get back to his feet! Bosse tries to clinch up and Mitterer counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mitterer. Mitterer is breathing heavily. Mitterer is looking to stand up but Bosse won't let him. Bosse wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitterer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mitterer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Bosse darts in trying to clinch and Mitterer counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mitterer. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bosse looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bosse trying to keep a closed guard but Mitterer is proving a slippery customer.

Mitterer with a nice head shot there. Mitterer trying to control but Bosse is working from the bottom. Mitterer controls from within his opponent's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mitterer has Bosse up against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mitterer is trying to break free. Mitterer tries to score a body lock takedown but Bosse shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Mitterer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mitterer pulls guard effortlessly. Bosse stops Mitterer from standing up. Mitterer kicks Bosse off and gets to his feet. Mitterer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bosse lands with a nice combination. Mitterer backs away looking to recover. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mitterer. Bosse changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mitterer tries to avoid it but Bosse manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mitterer to the ground. Mitterer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mitterer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bosse defends it nicely. Bosse wants to clinch up but Mitterer keeps it at a distance. Bosse tries to clinch but fails miserably and Mitterer counters with a single leg into guard. Bosse didn't expect that. Bosse looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bosse avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mitterer is pushing down on Bosse's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bosse is fighting to maintain full guard but Mitterer has managed to sneak the leg through. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mitterer lands strikes from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitterer is looking to advance position but Bosse won't allow it. Mitterer works his way into full mount! Mitterer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Mitterer landing strikes from the mount and Bosse is in trouble! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mitterer with the ground and pound from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitterer controlling the position easily from mount. Mitterer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Mitterer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Mitterer scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The referee warns Bosse that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitterer looking to finish Bosse with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bosse! Mitterer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bosse can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mitterer looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Mitterer with good strikes from the mount here! Mitterer controlling from the full mount. Bosse keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Mitterer throws a body punch but Bosse moves out of range. A head kick by Mitterer misses and Bosse counters with a three punch combo that has Mitterer backing up. Mitterer nods at Bosse to acknowledge the strikes. Bosse tries to clinch but fails miserably and Mitterer counters with a single leg into guard. Bosse didn't expect that. Bosse manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mitterer is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitterer bucks up and throws Bosse to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mitterer shoots in but no luck this time. A low kick from Mitterer misses and Bosse cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bosse stuffs the takedown attempt from Mitterer. Mitterer gets slowly back to his feet. Bosse shoots in and drives through. Mitterer sprawls well. Bosse gets caught napping as Mitterer dives in and scores a takedown. Bosse manages to retain guard. Bosse is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mitterer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitterer stands up from guard. Let's bang! Mitterer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mitterer lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bosse backwards. Mitterer just leaning against Bosse, taking a breather. Mitterer looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mitterer throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bosse is looking to break free of the clinch but Mitterer has double underhooks. Mitterer has Bosse pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mitterer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bosse tumbling to the mat - Mitterer dives into Bosse's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitterer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bosse bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mitterer's guard. Bosse trying to control the position from guard on top but Mitterer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mitterer uses the cage to get back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mitterer. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Mitterer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bosse tries to clinch up. Mitterer circles away from the clinch attempt and Mitterer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bosse wriggles free and stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mitterer shoots in and drives through. Bosse sprawls well. Steve Bosse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kyle Mitterer is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kyle Mitterer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mitterer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Kyle Mitterer showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mitterer has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
