Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Sebastien Blais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Goss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blais comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - One. Goss has chosen Sybreed: Emma-0 as his entrance music. Joseph Goss will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jean Sebastien Blais! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Goss! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goss gets a takedown into half guard. Goss is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blais is just riding it out for now. Goss eventually gives up the hold. Goss tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blais knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Goss missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Goss looks to land a strike but Blais avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Blais escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goss gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Goss with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goss keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Blais's head. Goss loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Goss drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blais looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blais looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blais! Blais tries to score with some ground and pound. Goss controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Goss is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Goss takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Goss manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Goss looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Blais is looking for a kimura but Goss is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Blais to get the leverage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Blais is trying to control the action in half guard but Goss is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Blais moves into full mount! Goss won't be happy about that! Blais takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goss tries to reverse the position but Blais maintains control. Blais trying to control but Goss is having none of it. Goss keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Goss sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Goss tries to get to full guard but Blais has control of the leg. Blais is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blais throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Nice strikes from Blais there. Blais looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Goss manages to get to full guard.
Goss wants to sweep but no luck. Goss trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Blais got a little sloppy there for a moment and Goss has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blais has managed to get both his arms back between Goss's legs - danger averted. Blais trying to control the position from guard on top but Goss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Blais preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blais works a leg free and moves into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Blais in particular looking to stall. Goss manages to get to full guard.
Goss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Blais wants to pass the guard but Goss is keeping the position. Goss looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Joseph Goss will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Goss tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Blais's elbow. Goss misses with an elbow over the top. Blais tries to circle away but Goss has him pinned against the cage. Goss tries to land knees in the clinch but Blais avoids the damage to the body. Blais avoiding damage as Goss throws knees to the body.
Blais stalls. Goss tries to throw a body punch but Blais avoids it by throwing Goss back against the cage. Goss lands a knee to the head.
Goss throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Blais blocks it with crossed arms. Goss is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Blais is defending well for now. Blais escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Goss tries to land knees in the clinch but Blais avoids the damage to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blais wants to get back to striking at distance but Goss won't allow it.

Goss is breathing heavily. A right hook to the body lands for Blais.
Blais avoids a wild elbow strike from Goss. Blais blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Blais wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Goss has him pressed against the cage. Goss using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Blais has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blais pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Goss gets tackled into the cage by Blais. Blais maintains the clinch. Goss tries to land knees in the clinch but Blais avoids the damage to the body. Blais is trying to break the clinch but Goss is controlling him. Goss landing knees to the body.
Goss throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Goss has Blais pressed against the cage, preventing Blais from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Blais wants to break free but Goss has control.

Blais might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blais lands a couple of elbows. Goss is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Blais passes Goss's left leg - he's now in half guard. Goss moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Blais trying to control but Goss is working from the bottom.

Goss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Blais sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Goss's guard. Goss is staying active underneath Blais, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Goss looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Goss is trying to get back to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Joseph Goss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Goss has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
