Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karel Gil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gil comes to the cage accompanied by Papa Roach - Last Resort. Man has chosen All My Life as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karel Gil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Man! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. No joy there for Gil, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gil shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Gil turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Gil throws a hook but Man avoids it easily. Gil scores with a takedown into Man's guard. Gil throws a big right hand that misses. Gil postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Man is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gil, into his guard. Gil has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Man accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Man wants to stand and escape but instead Gil has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Man wants to stand up but Gil is controlling him. Gil pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Man is keeping the position for now. Gil pushing down on Man's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Gil is thwarting Man's attempts to control the position. Gil wants to free his trapped foot but Man is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gil is working hard here to advance position. Gil scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Man wants to improve his position but Gil is controlling well.

Gil is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Man has managed to free his arm - good work. Man trying to control from the bottom.
Gil trying to mount his opponent but Man defends it. Gil is looking to pass Man's guard but actually Man recovers to full guard. Man has his hands on Gil's head, controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Gil in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gil trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Man is working an open guard so Gil takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A chopping leg kick lands by Gil. Joe Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Man misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Gil fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Man showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gil.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gil shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Man is trying to defend but Gil finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gil takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Gil is looking to pass Man's guard but actually Man recovers to full guard. Gil throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gil throws a big right hand that misses. Gil pushes down on Man's leg and manages to get into half guard. Man gets full guard. Man keeping moving, preventing Gil from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karel Gil dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gil connects with a single shot there. Man throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick misses from Man. Man misses with a shot to the body and Gil counters with a nice body shot. Gil feints and then cracks Man's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Man down. Nice uppercut lands for Gil. That snapped Man's head back.
Gil shoots in but Man avoids the takedown attempt easily. Man throws a head kick but Gil moves out of range.
A low kick from Gil misses and Man counters with a thumping low kick. Gil looks to land a combination but Man avoids it well. Man just misses with a punch to the body.
Jab, jab by Gil - just one landing. Man with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gil to score with a decent uppercut. Gil lands with an uppercut that bounces Man off the cage and back into rage. Gil scores with a nice head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gil listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Man swats away the attempt to clinch by Gil. Gil connects with a leg kick. Man looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. A chopping leg kick lands by Gil. Gil wants to slow Man down by chopping away at his legs. Man walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Gil feints and then cracks Man's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Man down. Gil attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Karel Gil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gil jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Joe Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gil fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Man looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Man misses with a leg kick. Gil connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Gil lands a jab to the head.
Man shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Gil moves out of range as Man strikes. Man throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gil digs a good body shot into Man's ribs. A head kick misses from Gil. Gil feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Man's calf. Gil throws a body kick that misses. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gil, as that shot connected.
Nice jab there from Gil. Gil wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Man takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Man's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Gil slips under a jab from Man. Gil jabs at Man's body. Man is breathing heavily. Gil wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Gil tries to land a leg kick but Man saw it coming and moves away.
Man walks into a jab. Gil tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Man is able to avoid easily. Gil lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gil. Gil tries to score with some ground and pound. Man controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Man is looking to reverse the position. Gil tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gil has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gil is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Man knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Man takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Man is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gil off and has taken his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gil turns into Man and is now in his guard.
Gil is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Man trying to control the position here. Gil trying to control the position from guard on top but Man is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Man is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gil is controlling him. Gil looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karel Gil dominated that second round. That's time! Gil's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Gil fakes the leg kick and cracks Man in the body. Man throws a head kick but Gil moves out of range.
A low kick from Gil is predictable there and Man counters with a three punch combo that has Gil backing up. Gil nods at Man to acknowledge the strikes. Gil cracks Man with a right hand to the side of the head. A head kick misses from Man. Gil is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Man throws a sloppy head kick and Gil moves out of range easily. Man moves out of range of the body kick from Gil.
Gil connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Man's hands. Gil changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Gil fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Man throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gil counters with a lovely shot to the body. Man throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Gil makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Man looks to land a combination but Gil avoids it well. Gil scores with a kick to the midsection. Gil digs a good body shot into Man's ribs. Man throws a sloppy head kick and Gil moves out of range easily. Man takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Man chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gil can pounce on him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gil closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Man did well to prevent Gil getting side control. Man has hold of Gil's hands but Gil slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gil lands with a punch from half guard. Gil working the head and body with strikes. Man wants to get back to full guard. Gil works his foot free and advances to mount. Gil cracks Man with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gil is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Gil!
