Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Brusko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Dundee! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dundee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brusko. Brusko looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Dundee tries to bum rush Brusko with a series of wild strikes but Brusko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A head kick misses from Dundee. Dundee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dundee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brusko as he avoids it easily. Brusko looks for a takedown but Dundee sprawls well. Brusko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Brusko is thwarting Dundee's attempts to control the position. Dundee is looking for a sweep. Brusko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Brusko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dundee actively working from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dundee is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brusko's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brusko's back! You can see the frustration on Brusko's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Brusko is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dundee gets his way!
Dundee is trying to stick to Brusko's back but Brusko is turning into Dundee. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dundee's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Brusko. Dundee keeping moving, preventing Brusko from controlling successfully. Brusko slips nicely into half guard. Brusko seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Dundee is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
