Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Justin Dude! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George St Pierre! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! St Pierre misses with a right hand and Dude counters with a nice uppercut. St Pierre misses with an uppercut
and Dude counters with a stiff right hand. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. St Pierre misses with an uppercut
and Dude counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dude misses with a shot to the body and St Pierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Justin Dude has been cut. St Pierre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. St Pierre misses with a left hand and Dude counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dude slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dude working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dude throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as St Pierre works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dude has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dude pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. St Pierre is keeping the position for now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dude accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dude misses with a left hand and St Pierre counters with a nice right hand that sends Dude toppling to the canvas! Dude scrambles and gets back to his feet - can St Pierre finish him?!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dude changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. St Pierre misses with a right hand and Dude cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. St Pierre misses with a right hand and Dude counters with a stiff right hand. Dude throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and St Pierre counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George St Pierre dominated that round. The cut man is working on Justin Dude's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dude is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. St Pierre can't fight it off and eventually Dude manages to take the fight to the floor. St Pierre looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dude won't allow St Pierre to get back to his feet. St Pierre has momentary wrist control but Dude slips an elbow through the middle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dude throwing strikes but missing. Dude trying to control but St Pierre is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dude postures up in St Pierre's guard and throws a big left but St Pierre blocks it. Dude throws and elbow that misses. St Pierre uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dude's guard. Nice move by St Pierre! St Pierre trying to control the position from guard on top but Dude is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dude is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. St Pierre is aware though and is defending well. St Pierre chips away with some ground and pound. Dude wants to sweep here but St Pierre controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dude is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dude is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. St Pierre is aware though and is defending well. Dude escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. St Pierre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. St Pierre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dude strikes from his own guard. St Pierre content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. St Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dude seems keen to control St Pierre's posture. St Pierre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dude lands an upkick as St Pierre stands over him. St Pierre wants to stand but Dude has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dude is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

St Pierre would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. St Pierre connects with a couple of short punches. St Pierre lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dude punching from the bottom - just letting St Pierre know he's still in a fight. St Pierre is looking to work some ground and pound but Dude has wrist control. Dude on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dude tries to get out of the position.

St Pierre takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Dude misses with a wild body shot. A head kick misses from St Pierre. Dude has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. St Pierre in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Dude connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dude landing punches. Dude postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. St Pierre looks a forlorn figure.
Dude throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for St Pierre because Dude loaded up on that one. Dude lands a nice shot to the head. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dude cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
St Pierre tries to hold on but Dude postures up. Dude lands with some vicious ground and pound - can St Pierre hang on? Dude working St Pierre over with strikes here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dude lands a big shot there that rocks St Pierre but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
