Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Boyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boyle's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Superman Theme. Prime has chosen Metalingus by Alter Bridge as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dave Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Optimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime looks to score with a jab to the body but Boyle is just out of range.
Boyle throws a poor cross that misses

and Prime counters with a takedown into side control.
Boyle taking punishment in the form of punches.
Boyle managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Prime.
Boyle sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Boyle wants to improve his position but Prime is controlling well.
Prime looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boyle with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Boyle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Prime trying to control the pace.
Prime is looking to advance position but Boyle won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Prime thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Boyle wants to control but Prime is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Boyle is staying active underneath Prime, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Boyle blocking the ground and pound attempt from Prime.
Prime is looking to take a break and control but Boyle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boyle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Boyle.
Prime looking to sit in guard and control but Boyle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Boyle wants to pass the guard but Prime is keeping the position.
Boyle throwing strikes from guard but Prime blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyle passes into half guard.
Prime is refusing to be controlled, as Boyle sits in half guard.
Prime is controlling Boyle's trapped leg to prevent Boyle from advancing to side control.

Boyle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Prime doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Boyle.

Prime is defending against the submission attempts here by Boyle.

Boyle tries to advance to mount but Prime denies him.

Prime is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Boyle asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Prime manages to work his way to half guard, despite Boyle's best efforts.
Boyle seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Optimus Prime dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Prime cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boyle uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Prime.
Boyle misses with a left hand

and Prime counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Boyle!
Prime lands a heavy elbow.
Boyle manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Boyle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Prime looking to sit in guard and control but Boyle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Prime wants to stand but Boyle is controlling the position.
Boyle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Prime works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Prime wriggles free and stands up.
Boyle misses with a left hand

and Prime counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Prime slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Boyle keeping moving, preventing Prime from controlling successfully.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Optimus Prime has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Prime keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Prime throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boyle throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Prime to counter with a crisp jab.

Prime clinches up with Boyle and pushes him back against the cage.
Boyle tries to pull guard but Prime won't allow it.

Prime has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Boyle is trying to keep an underhook but Prime manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Prime is thwarting Boyle's attempts to control the position.
Prime is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Prime looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Prime is just content to waste time from the top position. Boyle takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Optimus Prime showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Boyle decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Dave Boyle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boyle misses with a few strikes there.

and Prime counters with a stiff right hand.
Prime throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boyle throws a lazy uppercut

and Prime counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Boyle looking for a sweep. Not yet Boyle, not yet.

Prime drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boyle looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boyle looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boyle!

Prime wants to control but Boyle postures up.

Boyle goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Prime rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Boyle's guard! Nice work there by Prime!
Prime is working Boyle over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Prime postures up in Boyle's guard and throws a big left but Boyle blocks it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Prime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Boyle looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Prime not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Prime throws a strike but Boyle rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Dave Boyle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Prime is trying to stand up here but Boyle is controlling him well.

Optimus Prime comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Prime has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
