The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahmed fails with the takedown
letting Tribbett counter with a right hand.
Ahmed misses with a takedown
and Tribbett counters with a nice uppercut.
Tribbett closes the distance but Ahmed moves to the side
and Ahmed decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tribbett's guard.
Ahmed throws a big right hand that misses.
Tribbett controlling Ahmed's posture.
Ahmed wants to stand and escape but instead Tribbett has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ahmed is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tribbett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ahmed looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Ahmed has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Tribbett is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ahmed.
Ahmed is breathing heavily.

Tribbett has an Americana. Ahmed didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Tribbett is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Tribbett hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
