Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Keith Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blitz Crank! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crank fails to land the takedown. Crank misses with a takedown and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Crank. Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Crank. Keith Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blitz Crank. Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Jones throws a series of punches but Crank avoids them all with ease. Jones shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Crank eats them both and turns towards Jones to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Crank closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Crank wants to free his trapped foot but Jones is holding on for dear life with his legs. Crank is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Crank manages to mount him!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Crank's attempts to control the action. Crank controlling from the full mount. Jones's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Jones is squirming around, avoiding Crank's attempts to control the action. Blitz Crank has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Crank changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Crank manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jones closes the distance and lands a one-two. Crank shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Crank changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Keith Jones will probably get the nod. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Crank takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Good shot there by Jones. Jones tries to land a leg kick but Crank saw it coming and moves away.
Crank gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jones. Jones throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Jones throws a right and a left that both miss. Crank tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crank somewhat. Crank decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crank tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it. Crank prevents Jones from standing back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Crank is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Crank prevents Jones from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crank seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Blitz Crank hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Crank, before circling back to the center of the mat. Crank tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones lands with an overhand left. Crank keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones. Jones is looking to slow Crank down with leg kicks. Crank fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Left hook, right uppercut from Jones. A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target. Jones looks to land a right hand but Crank moved out of range. Jones misses with the combination.

Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jones misses with a straight left. Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Crank. Crank fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A chopping leg kick lands by Jones. Jones gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Crank to score an easy takedown into full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones keeping moving, preventing Crank from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones wants to stand and escape but Crank is having none of it. Crank wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jones throws a lazy right hand but Crank sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Crank shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Crank gets slowly back to his feet. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones stuffs the takedown. Jones is looking to slow Crank down with leg kicks. Keith Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Crank is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jones throws a right hand that Crank ducks under and follows up with a left that Crank also avoids with ease. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Crank bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Crank checks the leg kick. Jones throws a one two combo.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Crank has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Crank's head. Crank fails to land the takedown. Keith Jones is winning the standup battle so far. Crank slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Jones throws a series of punches but Crank moves out of range. Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Horrible takedown by Crank or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad. Crank drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones tries to escape but Crank is in control.
And that's the end of the fight! Keith Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
