Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kira Yamato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Perez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kira Yamato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Perez!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamato takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Left hook, right uppercut from Yamato.
It looks like Josh Perez has been cut.
Perez throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Perez rushes Yamato and presses him up against the cage.
Yamato wants to get back to striking at distance but Perez won't allow it.
Yamato is trying to break free.
Perez has Yamato pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Perez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Yamato tumbling to the mat - Perez dives into Yamato's guard.
Perez wants to pass the guard but Yamato is keeping the position.
Perez wants to control from the top but Yamato keeps moving.
Perez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez forces his way into half guard.
Perez stops Yamato from getting back to his feet.
Yamato won't allow Perez to pass to mount.
Yamato blocking the ground and pound attempt from Perez.
Yamato is defending against the submission attempts here by Perez.
Perez looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Perez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Yamato looks like he's trying to stand up.
Perez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perez throwing shots but Yamato is blocking nicely.
Perez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Perez decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Yamato is breathing heavily.
Perez looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perez forces his way into half guard.
Yamato knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.
Perez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Perez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yamato's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Perez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Perez is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Yamato!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Perez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Josh Perez's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Yamato lands with a slapping head kick.
Horrible takedown by Perez or perhaps it was just good defense by Yamato which made him look bad.
Perez shoots for a double leg takedown but Yamato sprawls well. He's pushed Perez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yamato lands a head kick!
Perez on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Yamato throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Yamato lands a brutal head kick. Perez looks out on his feet and Yamato throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
