The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Janosik, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Da Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Da Silva showed some decent athleticism there. Da Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Janosik is holding on for dear life with his legs. Da Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Da Silva seems content to control. Janosik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Da Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Da Silva throws a strike but Janosik avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Da Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Da Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Da Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Janosik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Janosik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Janosik! You can see the frustration on Da Silva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Janosik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Da Silva pushes a forearm under Janosik's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Janosik is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
