Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willie Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Long's choice of entrance music: Judy Garland, "Over The Rainbow". Sam Stout has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Long! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Long closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Stout on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Stout is looking to escape. Long throwing shots but Stout is blocking nicely. Stout on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stout tries to get out of the position. Stout trying to control but Long postures up.
Stout looks like he's trying to stand up.
Long lands strikes from half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Long connects with a nice short shot to Stout's temple. Long working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Stout is looking to escape. Willie Long dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

No joy there for Stout, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stout looks to clinch and Stout takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Long shoots in for a takedown but Stout shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Stout swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Long counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Long moves in looking to clinch but Stout pushes him off. Long throws a good cross that connects.
Long takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stout misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Long paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Long is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Long avoids the head kick by Stout.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stout moves out of range as Long strikes. Sam Stout is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stout throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Long counters by moving into the clinch. Stout misses with a knee strike.
Long wants to break free but Stout has control.
Long looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Stout gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Long.

A frustrated look appears on Long's face as he tries to break the clinch. Stout trying to land knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Long has Stout pressed against the cage, preventing Stout from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Stout is trying to maintain a safe position but Long gets an underhook and turns Stout into the cage. Long lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Stout is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Stout misses with a knee strike.
Long dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Stout prevents Long from breaking the clinch. Stout tries to land a knee to the head but Long blocks with his arms.
Stout pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Long manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Long is trying to force a seperation but Stout has the dominant position. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Long as Stout tries to tie him up. Long escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Long circles away from the clinch attempt and Long counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stout won't be happy with that. Stout struggling a bit here. Long in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Long working the head and body with strikes. Stout taking a bit of punishment here - Long scoring with strikes. Stout tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Long wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stout pushes Long away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Long gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Long scores with a couple of short elbows. Long cracks Stout with a big right hand but Stout just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

And that's the end of the fight! Willie Long comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Long has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
