Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Gorddo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry The Pain Train (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorddo comes into the arena with blitzkrieg bop blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gorddo lands a high kick!
It looks like Terry The Pain Train has been cut. The Pain Train closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - The Pain Train lands in his opponent's guard. The Pain Train sitting in guard here, content to control. The Pain Train postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The Pain Train showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Gorddo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Terry The Pain Train. Gorddo tries to close the distance and clinch but The Pain Train swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gorddo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and The Pain Train counters with a shoot takedown. Gorddo fights it but they end up in guard. The Pain Train scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The Pain Train controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gorddo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The Pain Train showing good wrestling skills to control the position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The Pain Train with a flurry of punches that miss. The Pain Train is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The Pain Train shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The Pain Train lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The Pain Train slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like The Pain Train might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gorddo makes his way to full guard, as The Pain Train worked for a kimura.
The Pain Train seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terry The Pain Train dominated that round. The cut man is working on Terry The Pain Train's cut. That's time! Gorddo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gorddo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Gorddo tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Pain Train swats him away and circles back towards the center. The Pain Train throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gorddo was covering up waiting for the punch and The Pain Train finishes the takedown easily into guard. The Pain Train postures up in Gorddo's guard and throws a big left but Gorddo blocks it. Gorddo wants to stand but The Pain Train is controlling the position. The Pain Train controls from within his opponent's guard. Gorddo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Terry The Pain Train has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Gorddo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The Pain Train shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than The Pain Train was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The Pain Train looking to control and managing it successfully. Gorddo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Pain Train is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gorddo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Let's hope that The Pain Train has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The Pain Train fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
