PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Tracy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Andy Tracy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Tracy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Moore!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tracy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tracy misses with a takedown attempt

and Moore counters with a single leg into guard. Tracy didn't expect that.
Moore controlling from the top position.
Tracy keeping full guard, as Moore tries to pass.
Tracy is trying to control the position but Moore postures up.
Moore trying to control the position from guard on top but Tracy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Moore controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gary Moore.
Tracy looks to clinch
and Moore counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tracy thinking.
Moore tries to clinch up.
Good leg kick by Tracy there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
No joy there for Moore, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Moore darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tracy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Moore controlling the action here.
Moore wants to free his trapped foot but Tracy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Tracy is looking to improve his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gary Moore was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Moore fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tracy sprawls well initially but Moore persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tracy is breathing heavily.

Tracy is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Moore jumps into side control!

Tracy tries to hold on but Moore postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Moore wants to finish this one by submission but Tracy is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Moore.

It looks like Moore might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Moore pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tracy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gary Moore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tracy scores with a hook to the body. Moore takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Tracy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Moore swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Moore closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tracy quickly recovers to half guard.
Tracy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Moore decides to stand and escape the position.
Andy Tracy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moore's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Let's hope that Moore has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Moore looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Moore stands up and beckons Tracy to join him on the feet.
Moore should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Moore shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Moore was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Moore throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tracy is looking to regain half guard here but Moore keeps moving and retains side control.

Moore cracks Tracy with a big right hand but Tracy just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Moore staying calm.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gary Moore showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Moore closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Moore lands in his opponent's guard.
Moore throws a big right hand that misses.
Moore engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Tracy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gary Moore hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Moore shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Moore decides to return to a standing position.

Moore drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tracy is working to avoid the ground and pound but Moore connects with a decent elbow.
Moore has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gary Moore wasn't active enough on the ground.

Moore closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Moore happy to just control the position for now.

Moore takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Tracy reaches up to try and control the position but Moore seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Tracy rolls and tries to escape and now Moore has his back!

Gary Moore comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moore has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
