Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Root (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saifullah Gaziev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saifullah Gaziev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arthur Root! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Saifullah Gaziev! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Gaziev with that takedown attempt. Root closes the distance looking to clinch and Gaziev counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Root tries to kick Gaziev off but Gaziev keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Gaziev trying to control from Root's half guard. Root has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Gaziev throwing strikes but missing. Gaziev trying to control the position from guard on top but Root is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gaziev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gaziev tries to free his leg and advance position but Root is retaining full guard. Root wants to stand but Gaziev is controlling the position. Gaziev has gone for a leg lock! Root slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gaziev's guard. Gaziev has his hands on Root's head, controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Arthur Root just wasn't active enough. Root misses with a two punch combination.
Root tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Gaziev counters with a single leg into guard. Root didn't expect that. Root is breathing heavily. Gaziev missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Root working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gaziev. Root keeping full guard, as Gaziev tries to pass. Gaziev has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gaziev loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gaziev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gaziev decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Gaziev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Root but Root pushes him off and we're back to square one. Root moves to clinch but Gaziev breaks away and Gaziev counters with a nice double leg into side control. Root won't be happy with that. Root parries the strikes from Gaziev easily there. Gaziev is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Root to escape.
Gaziev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Root has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gaziev is working Root over with some ground and pound from side control. Gaziev throws an elbow but Root slips to the side and avoids it well. Gaziev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Root, who protects the arm well. Gaziev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saifullah Gaziev dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Root tries to clinch but fails miserably and Gaziev counters with a single leg into guard. Root didn't expect that. Gaziev postures up in Root's guard and throws a big left but Root blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gaziev drops back looking for a leg! Root is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Root manages to kick Gaziev off! Gaziev jumps back into Root's guard. Gaziev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gaziev throws and elbow that misses. Root uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gaziev's guard. Nice move by Root! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gaziev pulls Root in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gaziev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Root's guard. Gaziev prevents Root from getting back to his feet. Gaziev postures up in Root's guard and throws a big left but Root blocks it. Gaziev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Root utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Root working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gaziev. Gaziev with a flurry of punches that miss. Gaziev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Root works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gaziev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gaziev makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Gaziev drops back looking for a leg! Root is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Root manages to kick Gaziev off! Gaziev jumps back into Root's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gaziev sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gaziev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Root swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gaziev stands up and waves to Root to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saifullah Gaziev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Root is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gaziev is controlling him. Gaziev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gaziev throwing strikes but missing. Gaziev in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
