Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Le Grand Antonio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Scala! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Scala. Scala throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Antonio counters with a single leg into guard. Scala didn't expect that. Antonio is looking to work some ground and pound but Scala has wrist control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scala can do anything to dispel that myth. Scala wants to get back to his feet but Antonio is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Scala is adopting a defensive guard. Antonio working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Antonio is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Antonio decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Scala, up you get! Scala pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Scala misses with a lunging right hand
and Antonio counters with a shoot takedown. Scala fights it but they end up in guard. Antonio passes into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Antonio in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Scala tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Antonio!
