Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Coming in Hot. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barbosa did well to prevent Alvarez getting side control.
Alvarez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Barbosa tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Barbosa is looking for a sweep. Alvarez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Alvarez is looking to stall here but Barbosa recovers full guard.
Barbosa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alvarez's guard.
Alvarez looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Alvarez working a defensive guard but Barbosa manages to pass into side control anyway.
Alvarez wants to control but Barbosa postures up.

Barbosa swings around for an armbar but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Barbosa's guard.

and Alvarez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Alvarez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alvarez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A head kick by Alvarez misses
and Barbosa counters with a shoot takedown. Alvarez fights it but they end up in guard.
Barbosa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Barbosa passes Alvarez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Barbosa wants to work for an arm triangle but Alvarez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Barbosa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alvarez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Alvarez isn't going anywhere.
Alvarez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Barbosa presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Barbosa has control of Alvarez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Alvarez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Barbosa is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Alvarez is surviving well by controlling Barbosa's body position as best he can.

Barbosa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alvarez is looking to escape.

Barbosa looking to control but Alvarez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Alvarez has left one of his arms exposed and Barbosa doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Alvarez screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
