Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djimon Mahama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Blu & Exile - The World Is (Below the Heavens). Marcus Roy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Roy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Djimon Mahama! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mahama falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Roy to counter with a crisp jab. Mahama closes the distance looking to clinch and Roy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Roy throws a chopping leg kick but Mahama manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Mahama tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Roy scores a takedown into full mount! Mahama in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Mahama is wriggling around trying to escape.
Roy moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mahama has worked his arm free - good work by Mahama!
Mahama is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Mahama gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahama is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mahama has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Roy off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Mahama takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Roy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mahama.
Roy closes the distance and clinches. Mahama tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Roy just stands there and leans against the cage. Roy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roy. Mahama has taken the fight to the clinch.
Roy is trying to drag Mahama to the mat but Mahama just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mahama's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mahama tries to clinch but Roy moves away and Roy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mahama's guard now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roy won't allow Mahama to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mahama has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roy has managed to get both his arms back between Mahama's legs - danger averted. Mahama looks gassed! Mahama utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mahama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roy defends well. Mahama bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roy's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roy looking for a sweep. Not yet Roy, not yet. Roy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mahama wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving. Roy working a defensive guard but Mahama manages to pass into side control anyway.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Roy is trying to work for a sweep but Mahama has mounted him! Mahama wants to control the pace but Roy is squirming around nicely. Roy is desperately trying to improve his position but Mahama has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The referee warns Roy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mahama sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mahama's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Djimon Mahama dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Roy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mahama's waist but Mahama gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roy off to one side. Roy throws a low kick, looking for Mahama's leg but Mahama calmly moves out of range. Roy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Roy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Marcus Roy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mahama misses the shot to the body. Roy pushes Mahama up against the cage in a clinch. Mahama tries to pull guard but Roy holds him up against the cage and eventually Mahama drops back down to his feet.
Roy lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mahama. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahama goes for a takedown in the clinch but Roy prevents it.
Mahama jumps into guard, dragging Roy to the mat.
Mahama will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Roy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mahama on the ground. Mahama working for a triangle but Roy defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy tries to stand but Mahama is controlling from the bottom. Roy tries to free his leg and advance position but Mahama is retaining full guard. Djimon Mahama has got the better of the ground game so far. Mahama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mahama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mahama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roy is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mahama working for a triangle but Roy defends it easily.
Roy trying to move into half guard but instead Mahama has managed to sweep! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Roy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Mahama thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mahama's guard. Mahama not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mahama keeping moving, preventing Roy from controlling successfully. Roy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Roy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Roy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mahama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roy is posturing up here but Mahama has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Roy tries to roll out but it's too tight and Roy has to tap! Slick submission there by Mahama!
